Worn out from recurring cold in my dds. Any tips?

DD2 (23 months) got a bad cold at the end of August. DD1 who is asthmatic then caught it and ended up in hospital for 3 nights with an asthma attack. Within a week of being released from hospital dd1 had another cold which dd2 then picked up.

They seemed to get over that one and now they both have a miserable, straming cold again.

DD2 is very out of sorts and isn't sleeping well.

I am constantly on edge that the cold will trigger another asthma attack in dd1.

I am worn out. DD1 started pre-school in Sept. so I suppose this is what is causing it but is there ANYTHING I can do to

a) relieve their symptoms and

b) prevent this happening over and over.

They both have very small appetites but eat a good variety of fruit and veg, meat etc.
I am giving dd1 a vitamin supplement.

I use Karvol at night but it doesn't help much.

Thanks

I don't think there is much really, until their immune systems build up enough to fight off the colds.
My DS is exactly the same, 13m and he only has to look at a child across the road with a cold and he gets it and they last for weeks. It drives me crazy and I'm always on the look out for runny noses and steering him away. Now he goes to nursery about twice a month and always comes home with something which he passes on to me then DH.
I asked the GP annd pharmacist the same thing and GP said vit supps which you are doing, and pharmacist said vit supps were rubbish, don't bother and nothing you can do to aviod the colds they pick up.
