DS 2.5 has really bad breath...

...even after brushing. Teeth are healthy and he has a well balanced diet. What do you think may be causing this? TIA

its usually when theyve got a sore throat or got a little cold. my dd1 get a smelly breath when she got a sore throat. Just make sure he drinks plently of fluids.

Might sound odd but has he stuck anything up his nose?

My little sister had awful breath and Dr found rolled up bits of wallpaper up her nose, it made her breath stink!

Or has he had a cold? mine always have fishy breath when they have them!

DS1 is a bit like this. I read somewhere that making sure they drink plenty of fluids can help. Also making sure you brush the tongue not just the teeth.

my dd has always got smelly breath, she is prone to tonsilitus and urin infections which seemed to come hand in hand. was adviced by drs to stop blackcurrant and darker fluids, did this and she has not had either for past year but her breath still smelly...her tonsills are always infalmed and to me look infected and i suspect this is the cause of her BB dr is not concerned unless she is feverish or unwell. maybe this is simalar to your ds.

Good stuff, madame - it was the peardrop smell that was one of the indicators for my ds.

My friend's daughter had poked a pea up her nose, which lodged in her sinus and gave her very smelly breath - she only found out a while later.
