DS age 5 has had soft - liquid stools since birth - multiple times a day. He has maintained a good, healthy height/weight ratio, and is otherwise thriving. The Gastroenterologist diagnosed this as leaking around faecal impaction and given MOVICOL. this was a disaster and we had 4 solid weeks of constant leaking like a tap. Has now given FYBOGEL and SENAKOT - and guess what, he has started leaking again. before the new meds, he needed changing at school, 1-3 max per day, some days nothing. Now 3 is the norm. he has been on this new meds for 9 days.
Does anyone else have experience of these types of medication? How long should they take to kick in? Any alternatives i could try?
