dd8 has recently grown breast buds, and i noticed last week she as a linea nigra! I am so surprised!!

Is she closer to 9 than 8? It is a bit early.

My dd is 9 and a half and one or two of her friends are just starting to get breast buds.

Iirc I started to develop a tiny bust in Year 5, but didn't actually start my periods until Year 8 (at 12/13 ish).

My DD had a sort of dummy run aged 8 or so with little breast buds and a bit of soreness. I was very surprised as she has always been really skinny. The doc said sometimes there is a little surge of hormones at this age and sure enough a few weeks later they seemed to go down.

She's now nearly 12 and although beginning to deveop no periods yet.

My dd is 7 and a half and a tall, skinny, lanky thing.
Two months ago she had a surge of hormones and had little breastbuds for a week or so. She said they hurt.
They went down and we have had nothing since. Coversation with friends with elder dd's all said this is a hormone surge and nothing to worry about. Although I don't know about the linea nigra your dd has.

You may find it all dies down again in a week or so.

phew, thanks, i guess it's just the hormone surge then. huge growth spurt in the last 3 months altho she is as you say a skinny little thing. her nipples have been very tender, bless, she has enough to contend with at the moment with her hip prob!

i got my period at 11, so maybe she will be early like mum.

her nipples this morning are very swollen and she says they are tender. it just seems so early to me. the line, anyone else got any exp of the line?

dd aged 4 has a faint linea negra.

I had the same at 8 but I didn't start my periods til I was 14.

My DD is now 9 1/2. she started getting breast buds about a year ago, I was assured 8 was within normal range. She's still developing, it won't be long now before she needs a bra.
She is also the smallest child in her class, tiny skinny little thing. So I really don't think weight and size comes into it.

it wasn't that i was convincedit was wrong so early, just that i wanted to hear more expereince too, ESP about the linea nigra!! Fizzytree, just knowing that puts my crazy mind at rest. Dd has had a difficult health problem the last few months and i thought' ofgs what now!!'

DD started about 8 1/2 with swollen nipples that were tender and sore, seemed to come go. She now 9 months later she's got tiny breasts, plus weight gain which seems to be changing into a growth spurt judging by her trousers. A few spots, a few pubic hairs, BO and lastly moods.

It's normal it just seem far to young.

Sorry Lexcat just come back to this now. I don't really know for sure, I'm just going with what my mum did with me, I got my first bra when I had enough to 'cup' it wasn't just budding but an actual breast, albeit a very small one iykwim. Sorry hard to explain!

My dd has had a very faint linea negra since she was about a year old. The GP wasn't concerned about it.
