Recommendations for books to read to my 7 yr old boy

I am looking for books to read at bedtime to my 7 year old DS. He likes adventure books and the last few we have read are:

Bedknobs and broomsticks - liked
Stig of the Dump - loved
The Hobbit - loved
Trasure Island - bit of a slog
The Iron Man - loved

We have done the first two Harry Potters but he is not fussed about reading anymore.

Any ideas?

recent ones ds3 liked are the jack stalwart, fergus crane ( loves), blardy beast quest ( read himself)

Have you/he read the How to Train your Dragon books?

We have read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe which he loved so we could try the second one. Good idea!

He is a good and obsessive reader so he has read lots of beastquest, Jack Stalwart and the first three How to Train your Dragon himself.

Will do a search.

Has he read the Swallows & Amazons books?

I've also just read a Diana Wynne Jones book to dd (Dogsbody) & keep meaning to get hold of the early Chrestomanci books, particularly Charmed Life which I think is a nice mix of adventure & magic.

I was thinking of swallows and amazons. Will also check out the other ones you mention.

Thanks.

'The Indian in the Cupboard' is a great read and the first in a series.
