Is there even a British version?

DS is 6 and begging me to buy them,we saw one in the library. I don't know if an English version would be better as words like 'stationwagon' he won't know the meaning of but I don't want to spoil the story.

So can you get a British version?

American or British?????

Also did your dc enjoy them, should we read them together or will that spoil them?

TIA

Our copies are published by Simon & Schuster in the UK - found 'station wagon' immediately! and 'Mom' and 'trash can'. Doesn't bother me, 'What's a station wagon?' 'It's a type of car'. All part of life's rich tapestry, etc.
I wouldn't feel the need for a special English version.

My children both liked them - I haven't read them. Younger DD probably read them at about 7.
