My son is doing fairly well with reading at school, but it's a chore and I would really love for him to start to love reading!

He has never really been into characters, he loves sport, it's his passion.

So I am thinking any stories re sport/football etc? I know he wouldn't be interested in the horrid Henry books, etc

Any suggestions welcome

Thank you x

Thank you, I saw the Tom Palmer books amazon and put then in the basket but didn't buy as we have had football books before that were rubbish.

I'll give them a go, thanks.

Will have a look at the brick street boys to.

You might also have a look at "Corgi Pups". There are a vast array of titles in this series but there are some that are sports related, eg Great Goal by Rob Childs.

He might also like other books by Allan Ahlberg such as Happy Families series or "The Gasgitts" series - not sport related but funny and quirky.

If his reading age/ ability is at about 7 to 8 years or more (stage 9 Oxford Reading Tree and above) you might also have a look at the "Books for Boys" series. Some sports titles there as well as other unique titles such as "Aliens Stole My Dog"!
