Books for 5 year old girls

What kind of books are your 5 year old girls into? Do they like Rainbow magic books?looking for ideas for party gift bags. Thanks

My 7 year old likes Rainbow Magic....I'm not sure your average 5 year old girl could manage them really. I do think books are a good idea but there's a big risk of getting some books and lots of the kids already having them at home.

In my experience the most popular party bag gifts for girls are the usual crappy bits and bobs though one year I did make some little sets of name bracelet kits....I bought a load of alphabet beads from Amazon and also some cords and clasps....added some extra pretty charms and put them all in small cellophane bags...these along with some sweets were their gift bags.

my dd is 6 and still reads picture books.

how about a colouring or sticker book? Wilkinson had some nice ones for 50p each and colouring pencils for 50p. or a bubble wand? all kids like bubbles!

we did a party bag with frozen activity sheets; colouring sheets and a bookmark - all printed out free online. then bag of haribo and cake. went down very well

My dd wouldn't like those books sorry. But in principle I don't see a problem with books that would need to be read to a child - I think most parents still read to their children at that age. My dd likes anything by Roald Dahl, joke books - like Ha Ha Bonk and books about animals. She's 6 now. I've always found cookie kits go down well, with the cutters and mix.

Also, how much do you normally spend on party bags. What's the minimum I should be looking at? Thanks for your help

Well no problem with them Num but the possibility of getting books many will already have is quite big.

OP I don't spend much....I try to buy bulk bags of stuff...or items which are on sale. Hairclips etc always go down well.

if you like Roald Dahl and animal books then you might want to look at - My Given Name - is very colourful and kind of retro- like books when we were kids. My 3 and 5 years olds love them and take em everywhere.
