Is it just me or is big nutbrown hare a passive/aggressive bastard?

yy I hate that book because the Dad (?) always needs to one up the baby hare. It reminds me a bit of that Fast Show sketch with the pushy Dad :)

Oh no, I love it! Big nutbrown hare, gently encouraging the little one to hop higher, to aim for more, but at the end he holds his tongue until little nutbrown hare is asleep, pretending to let the little one win, but still whispering how much he loves him before he can settle to sleep himself. :)

Did anyone else just find the books a bit boring? We got given a lovely hard back boxed set of them when dd was born, but she's never taken to them, and nor have I. Nothing happens! Maybe we are a bit heartless. (She seems to prefer books about trains, ghosts, or poo).

They are a bit dull. My kids were unimpressed. Good for valentines gifts tho.

My husband ran the marathon for Child Bereavement charity and they gave him nutbrown hair in his runners bag at the end. It gave the book more sentimental value to us and I think it's really beautiful.
