My godson and godaughter are both nearly 15 and are enjoying books by se hinton like the outsiders and rumblefish- it's gang fights etc.

I've just read Divergent, passed on to me by DD, its a YA book, good for a light read with plenty of action.

Christopher Brookmyre writes very good thrillers - they're quite gory but very funny and definitely fit the 'can't put down' for me. (Adult books so include sex/swearing etc, but assume that would be fine for a 15 y/o?)

The Gone series by Michael Grant is YA and excellent, and there's a lot of them so should keep him going for a while. Lots of excellent characters, action, fights, a bit of supernatural and gore but not too much.

Gone series by Michale Grant is good and has many books. Its not Cherub - those are by Robert Muchamore - he's got a new series out called Rock Wars which is Okish.

Ds1 is 16 and over the last year or two, from what I can remember, he's enjoyed:

and other than that a lot of set texts for gcse!

Have a look at Half Bad by Sally Green - first part of a trilogy which came out earlier this year. Lots of hype surrounding it, film rights already sold ... and I can confirm it's pretty good!

Echo Boy from Matt Haigh is awesome.

The Rig by Joe Ducie is another great adventure novel

I Predict A Riot has recently been released, fast paced.
