Hi
Does anyone know of a website where parents give views on children's books eg content, age appropriateness, any issues such as swearing, family issues, violence, scariness etc

My dd is often wanting to read books her friends have suggested and I just want to check some of them out easily beforehand. Eg she is reading j wilson but her books do have a wide target age range. Another example is some friends were reading hunger games and it would be good to know the issues in this more grown book

There is a website for films (common sense media) but it doesn't have lots of books on it

Suggestions welcome

Thanks

I'd try amazon.... There is often really great, in depth reviews for their books.

Any books specifically? Chances are someone on here will know it well and could advise :)

I run a website which reviews books for teenagers - I have read all the books that are reviewd on it and have put age appropriate comments for books. My background is teaching but I'm a parent of 3 teenagers:

Thanks for ideas.will check out website but she's just 10 so not quite ready for most of those!!! It's easy enough when you know the book (eg just picked up famous five again, pretty safe with EB!) it's just new books and happily she goes through books fast so it's hard to keep up!!!

You could always post on here, people are very helpful & you'll get a range of views about any given book/series :)
