We're delighted to announce the start of our children's book club, which means we're going to be highlighting a great children's book each month, offering you the chance to access free copies of the book, share your thoughts - and perhaps your children's - chat to authors and enter competitions.

This month we're kicking off with Francesca Simon's latest novel, The Sleeping Army. Click here to find out more information about the book and apply to receive a free copy. We'll announce on this thread when all the books have gone.

Francesca will be joining us later on Tuesday 29 May at 1pm for a live webchat to discuss The Sleeping Army as well as her other children's books. If you're unable to join us on 29th, do post your question or your children's questions in advance here.

What sort of age range will the books be aimed at?

We're looking at covering books for children of all ages, from toddlers through to young adults. One idea is that we feature a children's book of the month and picture book of the month but we're launching with one title to start with and will keep you posted on any changes. Do let us know if you have any suggestions - we're always keen to hear your thoughts.

Poo. Link won't work on my iPhone. Hope they're not all gone by the time I can get to a PC. Sad

Yes please yes please yes please! Done!!!!

DD is fascinated by the Norse Gods (along with the Ancient Egyptian gods, and to a lesser extent the old Greek and Roman gods). She'll pick up every error!

Sounds like something ds could get his teeth into. A longtime fan of Horrid Henry, but now sadly outgrown, I hope he loves this one from Francesca Simon Smile

My son already has this book as we went to a launch event for it at the British Museum. He hasn't really got into it so far.
