Charles dickens bicentenary-fab resource

Browsing on the train yesterday, I came across this brilliant website charting plans for the dickens bicentenary, including a story writing competition for 11 to14 year olds and loads of great resources for children and adults. Have a look. It's wonderful.

I have to organise a literary project for my furriners this summer,and although they are older, some of the stuff might be good!

Thanks for this link, lots of interesting stuff here!

On matters Dickensian there is a petition doing the rounds to save the Cleveland Street workhouse in London, which has recently been identified as the likely inspiration for the workhouse in Oliver Twist.

Let's hope we can save it - as a piece of history, mind, not a going concern Shock

I signed this and forwarded a copy to private eye, although I expect they are onto this issue already. Perhaps you should start a separate thread about it. My original title is a bit dull so not many will see it...
