I have been reading to my daughter ever since she was born it appears that she enjoys this and I love reading to her. I have been wondering though as generally I read picture books and get her to point to things in the pages is there anything else I can read/do to encourage her with reading. Also I have seen a package called my baby can read has anyone had any experience of using this?

There are no rules! Just read read read! Choose whatever you most enjoy so that it's fun for both of you. Choose "fact" books (eg about baby animals), story books (anything), nursery rhymes, rhyming books, board books, soft books, books with no words, books with lots of words. If you haven't joined your local library, do it this week and just borrow a different selection of books every couple of weeks.

Read whenever the mood takes you - when your DD wakes up, before her nap(s), before bed, whenever.

The single most important thing you can do to encourage your DD to love books and to read when she is older is make books a normal part of daily life, and something to enjoy (not a chore).
