Ds is 4 and so far we've read Fantastic Mr Fox, The Magic Finger and are half way through Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think The Witches and Matilda may be a bit too scary so am wondering about Danny the Champion of the World next. What did your children enjoy and at what age?

I love Esio Trot and The Giraffe, The Pelly and Me for the younger readers, they adore them. If you're reading Charlie to them, you must read Great Glass Elevator soon after

We started with The Magic Finger, The Twits, James and the Giant Peach, George's Marvellous Medicine.

Then we read Fantastic Mr Fox, BFG, The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me, Esio Trot and The Enormous Crocodile.

Still to do Danny Champion of the World and Charlie's books.

So James and the Giant PEach ok for little ones? I remember being a bit scared of Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker - but then I think they are only in it for a bit before karma gets them. Is it James' parents who die in a terrible rhinoceros incident?? Bonkers
