Could anyone help with places to buy cheap art & craft supplies? I have been looking for A4 coloured card, and various other crafty supplies. Was wondering if any of you knowledgable childminders had found any good cheap websites in particular?

I look in morrisons, tesco, wilkinsons, woolworths when shopping in town, or like www.bakerross.co.uk - not mega cheap but get quite alot for your money.

I get all mine from the stationary stall on the local market, not much help unless you live near Wimborne in Dorset I know, but have you tried your local markets. I pay 1.00 for twenty A4 sheets.

Scrapstore - it's not on-line, but a way of businesses recycling unwanted odds and ends, plus they usually sell paint/card etc.

Baker Ross can be handy - 50 pack of Coloured Card, with 50 Sheets of Paper, not sure what GSM this card is though.

The Range is a chain that does arts and crafty stuff quite cheaply.

S&S services have some of the same things as Baker Ross, but are cheaper. Good for bulk shopping.

There's a discount book shop (part of chain) whose name eludes me at the moment, they sell reasonably priced card and collage materials. When I remember I will post.

Also try Wilkinsons.

Do you mean The Works, Alyson? I find them very useful for craft supplies.

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
