And would like to keep me company? Am 40+2 with no3 and whilst was happy for bubba not to come early, id really rather have liked her to come by now! Very grateful to be feeling well and sleeping well but impatient to meet her and could have introduced her to a lot of lovely people this weekend had she have come by now!!!

rach6122 Fri 17-Jan-14 12:27:26

Yes me! 40+1 with no 2 sign of anything at all!

cookiemonster5678 Fri 17-Jan-14 12:31:09

40+8 and losing my will to live grin

rach6122 Fri 17-Jan-14 12:40:23

Cookie have you had a sweep yet? I gad one at 41 weeks with first so guessing that will happen this time

cookiemonster5678 Fri 17-Jan-14 13:40:18

Yep, made me bleed like hell and hurt a lot, my cervix wasn't quite ready only being 1cm dilated so doubt it will have any effect..

GinotPrigio Fri 17-Jan-14 13:43:21

39+5 here with no 2

no 1 came at 41+1 so I expect it'll be another week. Still doesn't make the wait any more bearable!

redcarrot1 Fri 17-Jan-14 13:48:32

40 +1 here and my diet is finally cracking - just made a batch of biscuits and ate 3 for lunch...oops. Plus MIL on my back ringing up.

TonksLupin Fri 17-Jan-14 13:48:41

38 weeks here and having induction scheduled on Thursday as I have a lot of back problems. Really don't want an induction! Had the most horrifying sweep yesterday, no dilation at all and got me to 2cm. Lots of show and cramping last night and now nothing!

PoopPoooDeDooo Fri 17-Jan-14 14:11:20

39+6 with DC3...DC1 came at 40w exactly and DC2 arrived at 41+6. Really hope it goes like #1!

Fed up now TBH

flyawayblue Fri 17-Jan-14 15:20:52

Me! 40+2 as well today and told baby is on the big side today at my scan so now even more shock

Have my next mw appointment on Monday 40+5 and get the impression they won't discuss induction until 40+10. Will try to push on Monday for next week if at all possible.

itchyfootedmama24 Fri 17-Jan-14 15:35:32

I'm in! 41w today and no chance of sweeps as baby decided to' disengage' on her due date. Probably best as DD1 has been sick for the last week. Ready to get her out now as don't want induction sad
Any new magic ideas to get going apart from walking up hills and having sex?

merr Fri 17-Jan-14 17:15:51

Hello! I'm 40+14, induction tomorrow, done everything to try and make this one come without induction but she's not playing along...

Ja9 Fri 17-Jan-14 17:20:32

Where I am they induce at 40+12. That's arranged with midwives at 41wks.

Percypiglet Fri 17-Jan-14 17:54:09

Am 39+6 today, with 1st baby......bored now with everyone calling and texting....

YoMamma Fri 17-Jan-14 18:03:06

40+1 here and thought things were kicking off earlier but it all came to nothing sad. I've been getting BH on and off for weeks and am really uncomfortable.

Percy I hear you with the texts and phone calls. I'm just ignoring my phone from now on. With DD1 I had to tell DH to ask MIL to stop ringing. Hopefully she'll remember this time!

TonksLupin Fri 17-Jan-14 19:31:08

Lost my plug about an hour ago, nothing at all happening though. Hope something starts to happen!

MrsHowardRoark Fri 17-Jan-14 19:36:50

Checking in too. I'm 40+6 and very ready for this baby now.

DD was 41 weeks so I'm hoping no2 puts in an appearance soon. I'm booked for a home birth so I need her to show up before 42 weeks or I'll have to get stroppy with the midwives.

GinotPrigio Sat 18-Jan-14 08:40:48

Anyone had any movement overnight? If one more person tells me to drink raspberry lead tea I will scream confused

Ja9 Sat 18-Jan-14 10:39:06

Another night of nothing! I'm missing out on a family get together today as it's about an hour away... Dc have gone to it... Have spent the morning snoozing and watching events unfold on sky news

itchyfootedmama24 Sat 18-Jan-14 10:48:41

Woken up vomiting sad labour or gastritis... either way feel shit.

TonksLupin Sat 18-Jan-14 13:57:42

Hope it's labour Itchy! I've woken up with a cough and sore throat, don't feel like doing anything today

Karen1226 Sat 18-Jan-14 15:02:46

Hi, I'm only 38+4 but had the best nights sleep last night that I've had in weeks but then woke up with diahaerreoa and just can't get comfy but no pains. Hoping this maybe the start but most likely just a bug.

itchyfootedmama24 Sat 18-Jan-14 15:07:02

Bit weird really... 2 big vomits, a bit of diarrhea and feel like I may have flu accompanied by cramps and what I think are contractions. This is my second, I should know a contraction but I can't really be sure. Its probably just gastro and wishful thinking!
Tonks I hope you feel better soon. I've had that cough and sore throat for a week now. If I have a baby you can call it pre labour smile

YoMamma Sat 18-Jan-14 15:09:18

I also had a great night's sleep last night. I was asleep by 9:30 and didn't wake up at all until DD started stirring at 7am! I feel so refreshed and DH and parents not working over the weekend so today would be a perfect day for labour to start sooooo obviously it won't. I have another sweep booked at the midwife on Monday so fingers crossed that will get things moving.

GinotPrigio Sat 18-Jan-14 15:11:53

Itchy & Karen - hope the upset tums are a sign of things moving

Tonks - anything since your show last night?

I have the most intense pressure and odd stabby pains in my pelvis today but no obvious contractions. I'm going to drive myself crazy with symptom watching. I need to relax!!

TonksLupin Sat 18-Jan-14 15:31:21

I would love this to be pre labour! Still having a bit of show today, surely there can't be much left! Other than that I have lots of pressure low down but nothing else. Was really hoping he'd put in an appearance before sweep tomorrow, the one on Thursday has really put me off!

Hope at least one of us has a clear sign soon!

PoopPoooDeDooo Sat 18-Jan-14 16:36:59

I started with sore throat yesterday too and today have a pain accross the top of my bump which aches through to my back, any ideas?

Really feeling like I'm going to be pregnant till 42w sad DD today

itchyfootedmama24 Sat 18-Jan-14 17:01:02

Convinced its just gastro now. Nothing happened since I had a nap. Good luck everyone, tonks at least a show is a nice definite sign, can't mistake that for a cold unless you have some seriously weird snot problems smile

TonksLupin Sat 18-Jan-14 21:04:09

Itchy, that made me laugh! grin are you feeling any better?

Well today I've cleaned and vacuumed the whole house, steam cleaned some floors, changed the bed and made 2 curries. Not a thing has happened, not even braxton hicks! So now I'm going to eat my weight in ice cream and watch a movie and see if he decides to save me from my sweep tomorrow

Ja9 Sat 18-Jan-14 21:15:12

I had a show.... on TUESDAY.... and still nought! Totally got my hopes up. Didn't have a show pre-labour with either of the others. Getting to the point where I want to just hide in the house as i'm fed up with people asking me. Even 7yo dd fed up with people asking her - she says it 'makes me want to sigh inside my head' lol!!

Fingers crossed the night is lucky for one of us at least!

itchyfootedmama24 Sun 19-Jan-14 10:31:33

Waters are leaking and had some contractions so waiting to see if I need to be induced. At least something is happening I guess!

YoMamma Sun 19-Jan-14 10:41:06

Fingers crossed for you itchy.

Still nothing but BH here and even they seemed to have tailed off a bit. I even had a vindaloo last night but to no avail! Have induction booked for Friday which is the first anniversary of the death of my cousin so I'm pretty desperate to avoid it if possible sad

itchyfootedmama24 Sun 19-Jan-14 11:18:32

I'm on a 48 hr countdown until indiction s long as i take antibiotics... Pleeeeease let me go into labour soon! Good luck everyone, I'm off to maniacally clean and walk up some hills!

Ja9 Sun 19-Jan-14 11:57:50

Itchyfoot - how do you know waters are leaking? sorry if that seems a dunce question...Has it been said by MW or is that your observation?

itchyfootedmama24 Sun 19-Jan-14 13:12:23

I was a bit leaky this morning and had a midwife appt fpr sweep and mentioned it so they checked and gave me antibiotics as I have strep b and had an infection in labour last time leading to emcs and v sick baby!
Just left hospital so praying for labour now!

Ja9 Sun 19-Jan-14 14:38:50

Ah, I see. Praying for labour for you too...

TonksLupin Sun 19-Jan-14 14:39:33

Good luck itchy, how are you doing?

Just had my second sweep, no pain which is good. I was quite scared after my last one! Everything had closed back up though hmm managed to do sweep and baby is almost fully engaged but she doesn't think he's going to come by himself so looks like induction at the beginning of next week

GinotPrigio Sun 19-Jan-14 15:30:37

Good luck Itchy. Hope things start very soon for you.

No movement here. Due date is tomorrow and have midwife appointment on Tuesday so hopefully she'll do a sweep then and I'll get an idea how things are progressing.

Ja9 Sun 19-Jan-14 20:36:10

I have mw apt tomorrow. Hoping that when she gives me sweep she'll declare I'm 5 cm already! <<searching for that hopeful emoticon>>

BuntCadger Sun 19-Jan-14 23:21:17

I'm 40+6 and already had a few sweeps. Was having contractions last week but all stopped. Looks like my waters may of gone, another scan tomorrow. I just want to go into labour and avoid induction. This is number 4

Ja9 Mon 20-Jan-14 07:51:51

Another morning of waking up disappointed because nothing happened in the night sad. Fingers crossed today is the day for some of you...

Naturegirl82 Mon 20-Jan-14 10:35:41

Could I join please. 40+5 with #1. Lots of cramps and bh over the last 1.5 weeks but no show. Mw on Thursday. Getting a bit bored of mat leave with no baby now!

flyawayblue Mon 20-Jan-14 12:35:16

Also 40+5 and so done!

Have horrible hip nerve pain all the time and it's excruciating if I put any weight on my left leg... Can't imagine this for another week plus. My hospital won't induce until next Monday as there dates say I should be induced on Saturday which isn't possible... Ugh!

Had two sweeps so far and nothing, she seems way to comfortable in there.

itchyfootedmama24 Mon 20-Jan-14 13:22:11

Wagamama chicken firecracker gave me two big contractions last night and then more at 5am but now...zilch. Looks like induction tomorrow sad hope someone on here has a baby soon!

TonksLupin Mon 20-Jan-14 13:30:54

I think you will be the first Itchy!
I've had a few cramps over night but they are really low down which the midwife says are no good. Also my cold is so bad that I can't get out of bed today, so even though I want my baby here it's probably not ideal until my cold has gone hmm

PoopPoooDeDooo Mon 20-Jan-14 13:45:33

Still nothing for me either other than annoying sore throat/cough that won't go away MW appointment tomorrow @40+3, wonder if she'll do a sweep? (although I couldn't find my cervix when I checked so think it must still be really high.)

I am ridiculously tired today after only 2 hours sleep due to SPD sad

BuntCadger Mon 20-Jan-14 16:35:12

Having reg painful ctx now. Fingers crossed this may be it xx

TonksLupin Mon 20-Jan-14 16:55:00

Good luck Bunt!!
Do very early labour pains always have tightenings with them? (FTM) I'm having some period type pains but no tightenings.

babsie007 Mon 20-Jan-14 18:10:31

I'm 39+4 and hoping any day now lol!

littleraysofsunshine Mon 20-Jan-14 18:51:11

39+1 and got bad PGP, and Braxton contracting every 5-8 mins. Just only lasting 30ish seconds.

Baby's head is so low that I think it's going to fly out shock

Naturegirl82 Mon 20-Jan-14 18:57:27

Did you get a sweep *little?

PoopPoooDeDooo Mon 20-Jan-14 19:19:07

Good Luck Bunt!

Tonks My labour with DC1 Started with period pain and then very slight leakage of pink tinged waters. Tightening followed a few hours later. HTH

TonksLupin Mon 20-Jan-14 20:17:30

Thanks! The pain is now just in my right hand side. Hasn't really got any more painful so I don't think it is anything hmm

BuntCadger Mon 20-Jan-14 21:03:39

I stupidly had a bath to help with pain and get the kids bedtimes. slowed it all down tho still getting Ctx not as intense or frequent. fuckity fuck. angry angry

littleraysofsunshine Tue 21-Jan-14 06:32:31

No sweep, she said she doesn't think it'll do much as it didnt before with my others but will do one next week. She said the baby's that low she heart the heartbeat that low down where it's meant to be in delivery lol

GinotPrigio Tue 21-Jan-14 15:20:06

Hope Bunt is having baby cuddles by now!

40+1 here and midwife tried to do a sweep today. She couldn't reach the membranes which was a bit disappointing considering this is no. 2 for me. Thought my body would be a bit more favourable this time hmm

I have had some pinky discharge since so maybe she managed to have a bit of a rummage up there!

TonksLupin Tue 21-Jan-14 16:44:16

Hope something starts happening Grinot. Anyone else getting anywhere?

I've had a few braxton hicks today and even more show, no pain though. Don't think I've ever wished so much to be in pain!

Naturegirl82 Tue 21-Jan-14 16:58:24

Nothing happening here whatsoever

PoopPoooDeDooo Tue 21-Jan-14 17:45:54

Jealous you were offered sweep Ginot MW refused today at 40+3 sad although booked in for one on Sat

Not sure if I had a show last night, wasn't mucous like at all but tissue was pink when I wiped...

Hoping I get some sleep tonight as only had 2-3hours per night for the last few days and have been a hormonal wreck today blush and am totally knackered!

BuntCadger Tue 21-Jan-14 18:11:48

grin baby cuddles abound here
had little boy at 11.16am today. Fab labour and birth. feeling blessed. oh and 9lb 13oz xx sending labour and dilation vibes to you all who are waiting x

TonksLupin Tue 21-Jan-14 18:40:39

Congratulations Bunt!!!! And wow well done! Enjoy cuddles, I think I speak for all of us when I say we are a tiny bit jealous wink

Naturegirl82 Tue 21-Jan-14 22:14:15

I think I've started to loose my plug! Whoop! I realise this doesn't mean anything may happen imminently but at least it's a step in the right direction

GinotPrigio Wed 22-Jan-14 08:06:00

Congratulations Bunt!

Fingers crossed Nature. I'm still having a small show since my sweep yesterday but I don't think it's enough, just the after effects of the sweep. Oh well, another day down!

ChristineDaae Wed 22-Jan-14 12:38:14

Hi all, can I join those of you waiting? 39+4, with a bump measuring over 43 weeks hmm midwife tried to do a sweep today but couldn't even reach my cervix and has told me to not expect anything for a while,

TheWiseOldElf Wed 22-Jan-14 13:58:04

40+6 here and booked for induction on Friday. I'm hoping for a vbac so hoping to avoid induction. I had a second sweep on Monday and have had a fair bit of spotting ever since and have just had a massive show (sorry for TMI but I had to have a bath to clear it out!). I'm really hoping that this is going to be it but the BH that I've been having fairly regularly for three weeks seem to have all but disappeared.

itchyfootedmama24 Wed 22-Jan-14 15:13:58

Baby cuddles here too! 3 hour from closed cervix and gel applied to baby in my arms smile labour was fast and soooo much better than my emcs that couldn't be happier. Good luck for anyone waiting, and induction is not all bad! !

itchyfootedmama24 Wed 22-Jan-14 15:15:29

Oh... and only 7lb so late does not equal big either!

Naturegirl82 Wed 22-Jan-14 15:16:48

Congratulations itchy, glad the induction went well.

I think my contractions have started! Eek!

flyawayblue Wed 22-Jan-14 15:55:09

Congratulations itchy

I'm still here, third sweep down and nothing happening. Have an induction booked to start Saturday so here's hoping for something to start before then.

TonksLupin Wed 22-Jan-14 15:55:29

Congratulations Itchy!!! So nice to hear induction went well. I'm booking mine in the morning.

Hoping this is it for you Nature! I've been having cramps all day and braxton hicks but they don't seem to be picking up hmm starting to get frustrated! Might go for a walk after tea to see if they pick up a bit

mummylin Wed 22-Jan-14 16:16:51

This is such a lovely thread, my own babies now have babies of their own , but it takes me back to when I became a mum, best of luck to you all. thanks for the new mums

MrsHowardRoark Wed 22-Jan-14 16:38:10

Congratulations to those with babies.

I'm now 41+4 and I have a consultant appointment booked tomorrow because I want to delay induction. Feeling very down about it all now. Please come soon baby!

GinotPrigio Wed 22-Jan-14 17:24:53

Wow Itchy that was quick. Congratulations!

Naturegirl82 Thu 23-Jan-14 08:10:24

Baby cuddles for me last night. Olivia entered the world at 1.28 with 20mins of pushing after I dilated 5cms in an hour! Weighed 9lbs 1/2 oz. Spent night in scbu unfortunately but should be out today smile

GinotPrigio Thu 23-Jan-14 08:36:20

Congratulations Nature. Another super quick birth! Hope you both get home today

TonksLupin Thu 23-Jan-14 10:41:26

Congratulations Nature!! Hope all is well and you get home soon!

I've had another sweep today and I'm favourable grin induction on Monday but he might make an appearance before hopefully!

lastnightopenedmyeyes Fri 24-Jan-14 16:29:05

After lurking for a week can I join? 40+2 with dc2. Was induced at 42+1 with my DS 3 years ago. Had a sweep on my due date as got bad spd and can barely walk but it doesn't seem to have done anything confused

TonksLupin Fri 24-Jan-14 17:26:54

SPD is awful isn't it? Well 3rd sweep have me strong contractions for a few hours yesterday but nothing since! We have family visiting until Sunday (not staying with us) and I really wanted them to meet baby before they go but not looking likely hmm

lastnightopenedmyeyes Fri 24-Jan-14 18:23:15

Yes tonks. I've been housebound for the past week, I can't walk more than a few steps. confused

islasmummy2013 Fri 24-Jan-14 23:31:32

Hello can I join! Im 39+4 and want to meet my baby!
My first didnt arrive until 41 weeks so Im expecting to go over again sad

Mumoftaiba Sat 25-Jan-14 00:30:50

Can i join too! I am 40+3 had a sweep today hopefully it works if not will be induced on thur. Good luck ladies smile

GinotPrigio Sat 25-Jan-14 08:55:32

We've not had any babies arrive in the last couple of days so fingers crossed we'll have a few this weekend. 40+5 here and utterly fed up and miserable. Was getting a lot of tightening sand twinges last night but it's all settled down again hmm

lastnightopenedmyeyes Sat 25-Jan-14 08:58:13

Feeling pretty awful as was awake between 2 and 6 feeling sick and crampy. About an hour ago I thought my waters had gone I've had a massive show and have low down period ache and constant back pain. Today could be the day for me, or at least it's looking a bit more hopeful!

GinotPrigio Sat 25-Jan-14 09:24:36

Ouuu that's looking very hopeful Lastnight!

flyawayblue Sat 25-Jan-14 10:11:17

Good luck lastnight

I'm waiting around for the ward to have space to start my induction. Not good at waiting....

KatieChooChoo Sat 25-Jan-14 10:21:48

im 37+3 and im ready. This is my 2nd pregnancy and the baby has been really low through out, he is so low down now im struggling getting up off my fat pregnant arse !

Good luck everyone xx

Starfish86 Sat 25-Jan-14 10:47:14

I'm 37 weeks and bored already. Just want to meet him. I think he might still be breech though :-0

Starfish86 Sat 25-Jan-14 10:48:20

37 weeks and bored already. Just want to meet him :-0 been getting shooting pains in top of thigh :-/

lastnightopenedmyeyes Sat 25-Jan-14 11:26:42

Nothing remotely exciting has happened so far...

TonksLupin Sat 25-Jan-14 13:12:14

Hoping these babies make an appearance soon! Just had 3 big gushes of fluid (whilst out shopping blush) luckily had a maternity pad on just incase! No idea if it was my waters of just normal fluid, midwives want me to wait a few hours before I go in to see if we can tell before. Hoping it is my waters, on the way home now.

Mumoftaiba Sat 25-Jan-14 14:32:16

Lost my mucous plug but thats it hmm not getting my hopes lets see

lastnightopenedmyeyes Sat 25-Jan-14 14:37:44

Ooh good luck tonks.
I've had no contractions or anything since losing plug but I feel really poorly. Shaky and exhausted like I could sleep forever.

ChristineDaae Sat 25-Jan-14 14:40:43

Fingers crossed Tonks!

TonksLupin Sat 25-Jan-14 20:11:46

Thanks smile waters have definitely gone! Back home now waiting for contractions pick up, got a bit of back pain and tightenings every 7 minutes but not much pain at the moment. I have to go into hospital in the morning to be induced if nothing happens. Hoping they'll start themselves!

lastnightopenedmyeyes Sun 26-Jan-14 06:07:57

Any progress tonks? Nothing here yet.

JBurge Sun 26-Jan-14 06:26:51

Tonks do some nipple stimulation!!

TonksLupin Sun 26-Jan-14 13:03:56

I'm here at the hospital on the drip. Contractions started at 5am but didn't really do anything so I had to have the drip, they are now about 6 mins apart. Think he will be here some time during the night smile

lastnightopenedmyeyes Sun 26-Jan-14 13:38:01

Good luck tonks smile

littleraysofsunshine Sun 26-Jan-14 14:44:32

Good luck tonks!

Due date here but no signs....

TonksLupin Sun 26-Jan-14 20:21:15

Thanks! 5cm at the moment but things should speed up from now apparently. Had to have an epidural because of my back problems mixed with the drip. I thought I was dying! Then it didn't work which was awful. All sorted now though!

Mumoftaiba Sun 26-Jan-14 20:48:21

Good luck tonks at least things are on they way. smile
Im still here and still losing the plug how much can a person have?!

flyawayblue Sun 26-Jan-14 21:43:48

Good luck tonks

Naturegirl82 Sun 26-Jan-14 21:47:11

Good luck tonks sending you speedy dilation thoughts

TonksLupin Sun 26-Jan-14 23:43:26

9cm grin having an hour for the extra cm then an hour for head to move down, then pushing! Really nervous!

ZenNudist Sun 26-Jan-14 23:54:58

Hello can I join? 40+4 on Monday when i have sweep booked. Tried acupuncture induction today (Sunday, just) so hoped that help.

Last time I had both sweep & accupuncture on same day at 41w & ds arrived day after.

SPD a killer this time so trying to get dc2 out earlier.

It sucks being overdue. I particularly don't like having to tell everyone who asks when I'm due - 'last Thursday' grrrr smile

littleraysofsunshine Mon 27-Jan-14 06:36:55

Tonks that's so funny you're MNetting at 9cm wink

GinotPrigio Mon 27-Jan-14 10:32:53

Tonks hope you're having lovely baby cuddles by now!

41 weeks here and still no movement. At this stage with DD my waters had gone and I was about to be induced so feeling thoroughly fed up now hmm

KatieChooChoo Mon 27-Jan-14 11:21:34

how are you tonks?
good luck today zen.
hope you have some sign of lift off soon gino.
i'll be 38 weeks on wednesday and im fed up of hearing myself moan about being uncomfortable!

GinotPrigio Mon 27-Jan-14 15:49:27

Been getting contractions for a few hours now. They are very sporadic, could get a couple in 10 mins but then nothing for another 30 mins. Hospital said to come in when I get 2 in 10 mins so I'm a bit confused.

DP is on his way home and trying to make arrangements for DD. Eeeek!

KatieChooChoo Mon 27-Jan-14 16:08:53

Exciting for you.
How quick was your first birth? Try and get some rest, you'll be needing your energy.
Good luck xxxxx

GinotPrigio Tue 28-Jan-14 00:01:35

Baby boy born at 7.30pm tonight. Contractions came minutes apart quite suddenly and made it to the hospital for 6pm. Was 5cm when they checked me so must have gone to 10 cm within another hour. Had him in the water which was lovely. Totally different to my first induced labour!

KatieChooChoo Tue 28-Jan-14 00:13:16

Congratulations hun. Welcome to the world baby boy, wishing you both health and happiness xxxx

lastnightopenedmyeyes Tue 28-Jan-14 05:23:57

Congratulations!! I've been awake for an hour timing period type pains every 3-4 mins at the mo but totally bearable so I'm a bit in denial still.

TonksLupin Tue 28-Jan-14 05:49:52

Congratulations Ginot!

Lovely baby boy cuddles here! Born 2:45am on 27th. Couldn't progress past 9cm as he was back to back and his head was in the way unfortunately. So I ended up with an emergency C-Section - but all worth it! I'm in a bit of pain but he's just perfect smile

GinotPrigio Tue 28-Jan-14 06:17:10

Thank you Katie smile

Massive congratulations Tonks! Feel for you having gone through 90% of labour and then having c section. No wonder you are feeling sore. Make sure they are topping up your drugs

Have barely slept all night. Hospital is amazing, all private post natal wards and baby boy snoozing like an angel but I think I'm too full of adrenalin hmm

GinotPrigio Tue 28-Jan-14 06:20:34

Good luck Lastnight. Sounds very promising!

Congratulations tonks!!

Pains not doing much here, I've slept through a lot of them while dh looks after DS for me. Will get up in a minute and have a bounce on my ball etc!

KatieChooChoo Tue 28-Jan-14 10:19:39

Shouldnt laugh Lastnight but your comment 'will get up in a minute and have a bounce on my ball etc' made me smile. Hope you are bearing through them pains. Keep us posted.

All these labour and birth stories bring a smile and tear to my eye and making me excited for my pending labour ....... xx

Karen1226 Tue 28-Jan-14 12:49:22

Hi everyone, I'm due today and think that things are actually starting to happen(typical as this was the one day I assumed nothing would). Had a few cramps through the night and then out of nowhere started getting really strong contractions every 5 mins from 10.30. Rang midwife and as this is my first have told me to stay at home for a while. I'm hoping this is the real thing because they are so painful and I thought I was pretty tough! X

lastnightopenedmyeyes Tue 28-Jan-14 14:37:16

I'm very jealous Karen. Nothing happening here and I'm so fed up now.

KatieChooChoo Tue 28-Jan-14 16:13:37

Hows it going Karen? On my first the first 3cm took forever but after that they came on really quickly and we only just made it to hospital in time - 20 mins!
Lastnightopenedmyeyes are you progressing a steady pace yet? Hope so.

lastnightopenedmyeyes Tue 28-Jan-14 16:30:25

No I don't feel like there's any progress, I'm very achy and sore but I have been like this for 2 weeks anyway!

KatieChooChoo Tue 28-Jan-14 16:37:26

You sound how I feel. I at the stage where im fed up of hearing myself moan!!! Im 38 weeks tomorrow and tossing and turning in bed is proving to be hard work.
But......... It will all be worth it in a few hours for you, fingers and toes crossed you dont have long to go now.
Is this your first?

lastnightopenedmyeyes Tue 28-Jan-14 17:00:07

No I have a 3yo DS bouncing off the walls too smile

He was induced at 42+1 though, so no experience of natural labour...

Karen1226 Tue 28-Jan-14 18:39:15

I'm still at home, contractions are now lasting a minute and coming every 3 mins so hopefully going to head off in a minute.

KatieChooChoo Tue 28-Jan-14 19:18:04

Good luck Karen, sounds like you dont have long.
Lastnight i cant imagine how you're feeling, fed up and mithered probably! Good luck hun xx

Karen1226 Wed 29-Jan-14 00:51:08

So to make you all feel better, was checked by local mw at 7.30 and told I was 5cm dilated and sent to hospital. Hospital checked at 11.30 and said I'm only 2cm WTF! So back home now and trying to sleep inbetween cx coming every 2mins!

lastnightopenedmyeyes Wed 29-Jan-14 07:07:18

That's dreadful Karen. I hope you're ok, with contractions every 2 mins at midnight I hope you're snuggling a newborn by now.

Mumoftaiba Wed 29-Jan-14 09:21:22

Hope ur holding baby karen smile im still here no signs of labour starting im being induced tomorrow at 10 so thats what im getting ready for. Wish me luck ladies smile

lastnightopenedmyeyes Wed 29-Jan-14 09:26:19

Best of luck smile How many days over are you?

BuntCadger Wed 29-Jan-14 09:28:05

Look up ina may. sphincter law. she is an amazing midwife and her thoughts are that your cervix can close up when you aren't feeling safe. x

Mumoftaiba Wed 29-Jan-14 10:59:54

Im 7days overdue but because im suffering with gallbladder problems they dont want to wait the standard 12 days.

lastnightopenedmyeyes Wed 29-Jan-14 15:22:22

So had sweep. Cervix now 2-3cm and baby is much lower. Midwife said it was feeling very ready and she thinks I'll be in labour v soon. She said she'd be surprised if it hadn't worked this time.
Another sweep booked for Friday and induction booked for Monday.
Main revelation was that while she did the sweep I had a massive contraction. Massive as in very painful and it was the same pain I've been having that's been stopping me in my tracks, so what I've been experiencing these past few weeks have actually been short, sharp contractions. Not spd I don't think. Terrified now at the thought of these pains lasting 90 seconds but at least I know what's going on.

KatieChooChoo Wed 29-Jan-14 18:08:11

OMG Karen, that must have been disappointing for you. Hope everything is going well now for you.

Lastnightopnedmyeyes I do hope you're progressing faster now. My first was quite quick (4pm to 01:20am) so I really cant imagine how stressful a prolonged labour is, other than draining and painful. Im wishing you lots of luck and hope the next update from you is a joyful one.

Mumoftabis - same wishes to you in that I hope you're ok and not having to wait to much longer.

lastnightopenedmyeyes Thu 30-Jan-14 05:44:55

Really hope I'm not jinxing this....

41+1 today, had second sweep yesterday and midwife said things were very ready. Woken up at 2.30am by painful contraction and have had them building in intensity since then. They are every 8-10 mins at the moment, lasting 90 seconds.

Poor DS is next door coughing his lungs up, and DH is in with him also full of cold so I'm having to handle them by myself but so far it is manageable.

Hoping this is the start for me! Might have to get the tens machine out soon....

dizhin79 Thu 30-Jan-14 07:54:51

good luck grin

Mumoftaiba Thu 30-Jan-14 08:43:08

Good luck everyone im getting ready to go in for my induction its at 10. Hopefully next time im on here i will have a baby! smile

KatieChooChoo Thu 30-Jan-14 18:31:56

Im guessing the lack of updates means that babies have arrived??????? Hope so.

Karen1226 Thu 30-Jan-14 19:19:34

So just to update, after I was sent home my waters went at 1.30am(in a way that apparently only happens on soaps) went straight back into hospital, checked at 3.30am and only 3cm but then everything just flew on then and I gave birth to Lauren Jean at 7.42 weighing 7lb 11oz. Good luck to everyone still waiting! X

lastnightopenedmyeyes Fri 31-Jan-14 01:09:10

Congratulations Karen. And gorgeous name!

Olivia Grace was born today at 8.40pm after arriving at hospital at 5cm dilated at 3pm. So so happy and relieved it's behind me!! It was a fantastic birth. So thrilled as first was a huge trauma.

8lb 3oz so she was 6oz lighter than her big brother!

KatieChooChoo Fri 31-Jan-14 19:33:41

Massive congratulations to you both. I bet your bundles were worth the wait.
Wishing you all happiness and health.

Ive started a new thread as I think (hope) i may have started!

Is it bad that I am joining this thread at 35+5??? hmm

Baby 1 was 11 days over and I went into labour the day induction was booked.

Baby 2 was 11 days over and I was induced.

Congratulations to all those who have had babies already, and good luck to those still waiting!
