I'm so confused by the potency of arnica...

Just about to order some, have randomly selected www.helios.co.uk (am happy to be directed elsewhere if anyone's got recommendations!), but there are a million potencies and types..

Do I want tablets, pils, or soft tablets?
And do i want 4g, 8g, 14g or 28g?
And do I want potency of 6, 12, 30, 200, 1m, 10m, 50m, CM, MM, 6x, 9x or 12x?

Help!!!

Hi hopefully. I used Arnica after giving birth, but used in liquid form. Drops in tiny amount of water. Can you not buy it like that? I am unaware it came in all those choices.....seems a bit overwhelming tbh. I live on a tiny island where choice is not an option, you just take what you can get. The drops worked for me. Got them from a herbolario. (Natural health shop). Good luck.

Can you speak to someone at Helios and ask their advice? How many tablets you need depends on the potency and how long you might need to take them for - the usual potencies used for self-medication are 6c, 12c or 30c, and a homeopath will often prescribe higher potencies.
If you can't speak to Helios, see if you have a homeopath in your area you could consult. They can also advise you when to take them (it's not recommended you take them within 20 minutes of eating or drinking for example.) Also there are other remedies that are recommended for after birth that can be taken alongside arnica. Hope that's some help.

Hiya

My homeopath reccommended Arica softtabs 200c we order from Helios on the phone regularly. I order in 8g bottles - but if you ring them they can give you an idea of how many to a bottle.

Thanks very much everyone! I'll be brave and give them a call and with a bit of luck they'll be able to advise...

Do you want homeopathic arnica (diluted to the extent that there's not a single molecule of arnica involved, but according to homeopaths the water retains some memory of arnica from how it was magically shaken, and the more often its diluted the more 'potent' it is)?

Or standard pharmaceutical arnica - my local chemist sells it in bottles of 10% solution?
I've bought a bottle of that (only £1.65!)

Depends whether you believe in homeopathy or not, but I'd suggest going for the one with actual arnica in it.

Hi, have you looked at the Organic Pharmacy? I bought their Arnica, Hypericum, Calendula, Sos pills (200c) which they recommend taking during labour and 3x a day after labour. I actually ended up with a section but still took to help with the bruising etc and I had v speedy recovery both times. Who knows if it helped but it's only £5.50

I bought Helios' childbirth homeopathy kit which includes Arnica, all the remedies are 200c potency, in pill form. Also have a bottle of 30c arnica which I bought before I discovered the kit
