Hi, ive had all 3 of mine at Maidstone Hosp, First in 1991, second in 2002 and third last year (Jan 2007)ive had nothing to complain about. The second time the unit was shortstaffed and as it was my second birth, i was left to it after delivery ,but With my third there were noticably more staff on duty. all very nice and caring and the place was clean. I know that maidstone has received alot of bad press but we live near by and have used A&E, childrens services, outpatients and maternity services and never had any complaints. Dont know much about Pembury though.

I had my first ds there in october 2005. Can't fault it. the care on labour asuite was second to none as was the postnatal care i received.

i loved the continuity in my care there. i was in labour for a little over 23hours and had 3shift changes whilst in labour. the first mw i saw came to see me the next day on PNward to see how i was and the second mw who spent the night with my mum and i, was working on PN ward the following afternoon so was great to see them again.

The only thing i didn't like was that i received no help with breastfeeding and wasn't shown how to bath my baby or anything. I know this sounds menial but at the time i was a songle mum and barely turned 18 so felt that would have been good. perhaps if i'd asked more i would've received more help......who knows?
