www.nurturingbirth.co.uk has a doula directory too. i am sure the doula uk site will be up and running again in a day or so.

thanks. am feeling a bit overwhelmed with info. does anyone have an recommendations for doulas in southeast london area? i want one for the birth. i just don't really see how i can interview someone i don't know and feel comfortable enough to have them present [and helpful] for the actual birth.

this is my second child, btw...

Worth mentioning that NB and DUK list doulas - they are not an agency like british doulas xx

Mimsy I didn't have a birth doula but did have a post natal one. Just wanted to say that when I met mine I felt really comfortable with her straight away, she was easy to chat to and I would have had no problem with her being at the birth (she did offer if DH didn't make it in time).

Good luck!

Mimsy hi,

I live in southeast london too & am about to delivery in St Thomas very soon (I'm 38 weeks today). I'm working with a wonderful doula who lives/works locally & I can highly recommend her. I'm sure she'll also know others in the area. If you want, I can give you her details. Not sure how to do this though, since we're not supposed to give emails on this site?

Best,
Maria

The DUK site is back up. There was a glitch in the system which has been fixed.

Hi Mimsy,

Her name is Maisie Hill. She's wonderful. You can find her details through the doula uk website.

Best,
M.
