where does/will your baby sleep?

Im planning on breastfeeding and want our baby in our room with us. Im not due until Nov but this is the one thing I get conflicting information on already.

Our room is too small for a cot.
now i know moses basket wont last long, some say get a crib but then ive been told thats not much bigger and baby can trap its arm between the bars.

been told to use a travel cot but im conscious thats a temporary surface for a prolonged period of sleeping every day?

then my midwife told me to get a co-sleeper/bedside cot. bedside cot wont fit and seen co-sleepers that are the same as a travel cot but you pay an extra 100 quid for the drop side.

please tell me where your baby sleeps so im more informed as im getting tired of being given conflicting advice and mumsnet usually has a general consensus!

Our dd sleeps in our room and will do until she is 6 months old. This is also SIDS advice. She is in a moses basket on a stand - the weight limit for a moses basket is 9kg.

Hope that helps!

DS sleeps in bed with me or sometimes in the pram with a proper mattress. He'll probably move out into a travel cot in our room with a proper mattress, then cot in sister's room at about a year old.

DD would have outgrown a moses basket in the first few weeks.

She sleeps in bed with us.

What about a natures nest? The footprint/base goes under my bed so it doesn't take up much space.

DD is in a travel cot in our room and has been since about 11 weeks when she outgrew the basket. She's 20 weeks now. I bought a proper mattress for the travel cot as it's full size and she's grand in there.

Show of hands - blimey, your baby must have been a whopper! Only teasing!

The doc's wife - she won't! Once she has she will be over 6 months. Been looking for a nice big cot on the net for her nursery.

not looking for a right way, just wondered what people did with their babies. everyone i know is doing something different. Think i'll start with moses basket then, normal mattress in travel cot is great idea too.

DS slept in a moses basket (sometimes) but outgrew it at about 12 weeks. Now he's in a bedside cot or in with us. Works much better than the basket and I wish I'd never bothered with it TBH

I suppose a lot depends on the size of baby, not so much the weight, but the length. That's the crucial thing for a moses basket!

We have a willow crib which is bigger than a Moses basket. The idea being that DS goes into the crib that DS is currently occupying.

Don't know why I bother as they both end up in bed with us at some stage during the night!
