Anyone had MORE than 1 sucessful homebirth??

Hiya, had DS1 in hospital but DS2 was born at home.

I feel I was really lucky and pretty much had a perfect birth the 2nd time round, it was just beautiful.

Part of me thinks I wont be so lucky as to achieve this again... has anybody had a 2nd homebirth?

Thankyou

I've only had one (only got one child!) but...

My mum had two after having her first (me) in hospital.

My aunt had two.

And of my friends, one has had four (first when she was 18), one has had two (and one in hospital), and one has had three (and no midwife for the first!).

Oh and another had her first in hospital and then two at home - in a yurt, and under a tree.

I've had one at home and three lovely home births

had 2 ds1 and ds2
brilliant, very different births but both experiences I would do again without a second thought.

Disenchanted - I am thinking the same thing

DD1 born in hospital, DD2 fab homebirth DD1 slept right through it, fast and straightforward delivery no stitches.

Keep thinking that I would be too lucky to have a nice homebirth again, oh am due in July.

Yes, I had DS1 in hospital and DS2 and DS3 at home. I had to see the consultant before "approval" for DS3's home birth because DS2 weighed 10lb, but he said it was fine, and DS3 was a mere 9lb 4oz.

I'm worried about a big baby too DD2 was 9lbs 3ozs, better not have a 10lber this time.

I had DD2 and DD3 at home. DD3 was a slightly more complicated delivery, and I was thankful I was at home because the midwife managed to shift her when the second stage stalled whereas in hospital with DD1 the same issue ended in a hideous cascade of intervention.

first one in hosp, then two home births the last one in water both home births were wonderful.

I have had two and the last one was the best because I had already had one homebirth and had an even better idea of how I wanted things.

That being said, my waters broke when I was fully dilated and there was meconium and an ambulance was put on standby for me. But even that was OK as it was very well managed and thankfully everything turned out jsut fine.

2 homebirths - 1 was unplanned but second was planned. Wouldn't have it any other way

What I detest is when people in RL say
"you having it at home again then?"

same people though that say I couldn't have DD2 at home either, think they were waiting for something to go wrong so I could get a big I told you so.

I felt very unsupported last time which made me more determined to have a good homebirth.

Yes, I had ds (7lb) at home and dd, second baby (9lb 8oz) at home.

My sister also had home births for both and the second was 10lb.

mine were 10lb4 and 11lb1 so goodness knows what this one will be, needless to say they're not 'letting' me have a home birth and I'm not fighting it

1st birth in hospital

Dd and ds2 at home. Both god births - dd was 10lb, popped out in half an hour (3.5 hours altogether, mw in the house for less than an hour in total!).

Ds2 10lb2, longer slower labour, but fine really (Ok it hurt like hell, but wasn't traumatic). No stitches for either, and no pain relief either - just being relaxed at home really helped.
