what is meptid?

dumb question but just reading over some antenatal info re pain relief adn this was mentioned in leaflet but not in class. Can anyone help on what it is ,when you use it, pros/cons?

thanks smallwhitecat -thats really helpful. Sounds like its got all bad effects of pethidine and isnt as effective.

can I ask what you thought of tens machine -when started using/how long for etc?

hiya

poppy34 - i've also heard it is like pethidine (so same negatives - nausea, crosses placenta). hope that's helpful. i've had epidural/ spinal with my two and had zero probs with breatsfeeding - they couldn't latch on fast enough!
