could someone just give me a link to a site giving lots of ideas to get contractions going?

my friend's waters broke this morning (have already posted about this!) but she is sitting at home now waiting for contractions, she is a researcher so likes to see evidence of everything, could someone post me a link to a site with lots of ideas to get contractions going that gives evidence too??! Thanks!

erm, not really....

anecdotally, nipple stim works, i posted about that on the other thread, as it produces oxytocin, the natural version of syntocinon, whihc is given to augment/induce labour

relaxing, visualising and letting go can help, as stress can stop things from moving, being tense is not good.

so, sorry, can only do anecdotal!

no worries, i did find a page on another website that was vaguely useful and have emailed it to her! She is relaxed and calm which is the main thing i guess...

Some people think that the baby being in a funny position can sometimes cause the waters break before contractions start. She could have a go at the optimal fetal positioning stuff on spinning babies

My waters broke on the Friday for my first DD, and I didn't give birth til the Monday (not recommended by the way). Contractions were very very slow, hardly noticeable over the weekend. Make sure she gets lots of rest and eats/drink plenty as she will need some energy soon!

don't think they advise sex when your waters have broken (as has happened with her) but yes it did work for me (before my waters broke!)

for those of you who were nice enough to answer this (and my other thread!), just thought you'd like to know that my friend had her baby at 3.40am today, called Elif Elisabetta
