You medical history sounds like mine.

My mw said during the birth of my 2nd that my skin looked friable and the consultant did say (but too late as was in advanced pg by then) that maybe they should have sent me to a proctologist.

From everything I've read this is good practice, as more should be doing this. It's to assess how thin and friable the wall is between vagina and back passage, particularly if it is to prevent future incontinence, not just immediately after childbirth but in your later years where women later find it is a problem.

you can refuse any or all examinations and it should not prejudice your care

if you are not sure why you are being examined, then definitely ask for a full explanation before the exam starts. then you can make an informed decision whether to have it or not

I've requested an Elective caesarian for similar reasons you give above....

My consultant was a bit cautious and I had to 'think' about it a lot but he's agreed and hasn't suggested any internal exams (though I am only 33 weeks, maybe he will closer to the time?? Not sure?)

I also don't need to see another consultant.
