More than 2 CS

Can anyone who has had more than 2 c-sections tell me what their 3rd was like please. I've had 1 VB and 2 CS and the consultant has warned me I'd have to have a section next time too but the thought scares me.

Thanks.

I i have had 4 c-sections 2 emergency then 2 planned. And yes i was scared too with the 3rd and 4th. Mainly as the 3rd was to be my 1st one with me awake! But in fact it was great being awake whilst he was born.

Why does a 3rd scare you was the other 2 emergencies?

Why do you have to have a CS next time??? Surely if you've already managed a VB it's not that you can't physically do it.

Have to have another next time because in my last pregnancy 8 months ago I had a DVT from 3 months and had to inject myself twice a day with a blood thinner. The consultant has said that as soon as I get pregnant again (if and when) I will have to start injecting myself straight away which means I can't have a VB. The 2nd CS was for low-lying placenta

I absolute hated every minute of my 2 CS. It doesn't get any better when you know what to expect either. My 2nd took alot longer than my 1st too because of the old scar tissue and how big I got

I would seriously consider getting a second opinion about the need for a cesarean because of the need for blood thinning treatment. As far as I know it's not normally an indication for a cesarean on its own. Obstetricians will usually recommend that you have a repeat cesarean for any future pregnancy once you have had 2 or more sections, but there is increasing evidence that it is safe to labour. I had a vaginal delivery after two previous cesareans and I know of people who've had one after 3 or even 4 previous cesareans.

Thats interesting, thanks Daisymoo. If I get pregnant I will persue this more ardently. The thought of another section has blunted the fun of trying for another baby

I second what Daisymoo says, I'm pregnant for the third time and have had two cs's and am hoping to have a VBA2C this time round, that's why I asked.

Ask around, speak to some other consultants about it and tell them you want all the facts so you cna make a fact-based decision yourself all they can do is recommend and advise, the choice is down to you in the end.

I've had 3. The first emergency, 2nd elective third, emergency. Neither emergency was really dodgy- first was for non-progression, third was also for non progression (although after a much shorter time).

2nd one was the worst- in terms of actual operation, bleeding afterwards- only one which required a drain- and recovery. 3rd was fine.
