i had my first sweep today and she carried out a bishop score i was given an 8 is that good and if so does it increase the chances of the sweep working? My Bp is straing to rise so hoping things kick off asap or else im likely to be induced given my past history of pre-elampsia.

BS of 8 is very good, means that if they were to induce you, you would probably just have the waters broken +/- the synto drip, rather than the prostin which can take a long time.

Also means that the cervix is starting to change to go into labour so there is a good chance of the sweep working well. Have sex tonight and you should have this baby soon

Good luck

oh yes !! 8 is really good, very strong likelihood that labour will barely need a kickstart

sex will help, sorrreeeeee!!!! semen helps to ripen the cervix and orgasm can stimulate and increase strenght of contractions, as can nipple stimulation...

you might not even make it to the sweep... a bishops score like this means you are dilating, thinning, anterior , baby is nice and low and soemthing else....but it is good !
