Numb foot after epidural

Hi

I had an epidural (along with pethidine and g&a) last Friday night at my daughter's birth. since then I've had a numb/tingly feeling in my left foot which is affecting the way I walk. My leg actually gave way in labour which was a pain as she was almost out. The midwife says it's common and should wear off in a week/month (depending on who you talk to) .Has anyone else had the same thing and if so, how long did it take to regain the feeling and was further treatment (e.g.physio) required

thanks

I had the epidural needle in and no drugs as they failed to site it as I kept moving.
Anyway after birth I had a numb left big toe (only the outer half) this lasted about 2 years before sensation came back gp said it was nerve damage and either the nerves would find a new route and it would right itself or not.
