Hi, I'm 38+5 with first DS. I've been having regular BH for weeks now, but had a 3 hour spell of very strong ones, every 20 mins in the middle of the night. I was peeing every 10 mins and had lots of wind. At the time I really thought that could be the start of something but as I dozed after 3 hours I guess it wasn't. Eased off this morning, but still got niggles. Could this be the start? Head was 3/5s last Friday, don't see midwife till 14th. I've been taking rasp leaf capsules - is it ok to carry on taking them?

Sorry for the long post, I know I'll know when it happens, but just wondered if this could be the start?

hi kelbel
unfortunately its impossible to say, my sil had exactly this for the last 2 months of her pregnancy in fact the had her in the delivery room on three occasions before it all went quiet and they sent her home again! Good news is when she finally went into labour properly it only took an hour from start to finish.
personally i'd avoid the raspberry leaf, imho your body knows when its ready and shouldn't need any 'chemical' help. also i think it stimulates contractions without helping your cervix dilate
good luck, hope all goes well for you

Kelbel, the best thing is to forget about having the baby entirely and plan something for you - having your hair done is good. That way if he comes he comes and if he doesn't you get a treat. Also walking round helps a lot.

You do realise when you have your DS and you are having no sleep you'll be wondering (wonderful as he'll be) what your bloody rush was? Remember you may have another four weeks of this yet!
