Last few days (about 4 days now) been achey like period pain. Sometimes much more intense then easing off. Reckons on BH's.. however yesterday and today I have had some quite bad pains on RHS of bump like a really bad stitch, so bad cant walk. I have also had upset tummy.

I have still been getting period like pains low down when relaxing but no real regularity to them. Feel quite icky, but desperate to go and look at poss new car as if this is it, need car sorted!

Have had no show, waters not broken (unless the wet undies are slowly leaking waters, although i doubt it

This isnt my first so feel stupid not knowing. Mw will call me later.

I was also measuring perfect for dates, but i got the old tape measure out last night and instead of measuring 35/36 am measuring about 40/41.

Do i call dp in Japan to let him know??

When are you due? I'd call dp just to put him on standby that something might be happening.

real labour:

backache

regular contractions that get stronger and closer together

don;t die off when you move around

probably BH

measuring yourself is not ideal, you have to know what to feel for, and where the top of the uterus is,also it is not uncommon for fundal measurement to be inaccurate or even irrelevant in terms of measuring ahead/ behind.

if you can sleep through them, they are not real labour either

best to get checked out though!

Are you sure you waters aren't leaking?

This does sound a bit like how I was with DS2. Quite a while of not being sure and then once I was sure he was there in about 3 hours.

However it could just be an upset tummy or even a UTI, although UTI's can bring on labour.

I would warn your DH but not get him on a plane just yet.

Hope the midwife calls soon.

Awen - sending you good vibes. I would call DP to be on standby. If it helps I have had to wear pantyliners throughout my whole pregnancy and some days i have "leaks". keep us informed hun.

Let DP know but tell him not to panic yet.
Keep an eye on everything and keep us updated.

Don't worry about it for now. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Doesn't sound like labour to me. Possibly UTI - would be a good idea to get urine sample checked.

OK, Back from hospital I am having contractions. Got told off for not going in earlier as been around 4-5 days. Had me on monitor and definately contracting. The cervix is more forward than should be at this stage but not open? (that is what they said). Wanted to keep me in overnight but as I am not in active labour begged and pleaded to go as ds1 to sort out etc. Allowed out. Going o stay with mum for the night, at home right now, running a nice bath and going to have a couple of paracetamol.

They dont think i am going term somehow. They talked about steriod for baby's lungs but according to them I am 35+6 so very close to 36 week.

Fundal height measuring 41 weeks BP fine, urine NAD. Baby's heart rate all ok.

Have to go back if they become even stronger (like period pains now), the stitch pain is likely to be ligaments.

DP was on tenterhooks ready to come home, but as I was allowed home he is staying put and due home on Saturday. Since being home had a fair few strong ones, but that was when i was doing washing up etc so think i should rest.

Also got told off for thinking they were BH's

How exciting!

I did say you sounded like me at the very early stages. Were your waters leaking? Sounds like the baby will be OK though if it is born now.

How will you feel if DH doesn't make it home in time? Will your Mum be able to stay with you during labour?

Anyway I hope you have a good night and get some rest. I think you might be in for a busy few days!

Take it easy. I hope all goes well and you get to meet your baby soon.

Could be!

MWs always seem to say you aren't in labour until you tell them you can't stand it any more and then they admit that something is going on!

Will keep my fingers crossed for you too.

Let us know how you get on!

Ok, anyonme awake?? Been up since 3am, been having fairly regular pains, between 3-5 min apart. Sometimes feels like one on top of eachother. Have taken panadol to see if it helps about 15 minutes ago. Labour ward think i may be in pre-term labour now and i am going in if things dont settle soon. Mum in shower, ds fast asleep. Really dont want to disturb the little mite Is too early to have this baby yet. I want him to hang on a little longer, especially as not quite 36 weeks and dp still in Japan.

Bless my mum, she powered up the laptop.

How exciting and scary all at the same time.

36 weeks should be fine. My nephew arrived at 36 weeks and will be 4 in Feb. Totally fine (did have a few days in incubator) - is a totally cheeky funny chap.

Hope your DP gets back - it will seem like the longest flight in the world for him.

And bless your Mum for sorting the laptop for you!

Rachee are you still there?

I hope you are OK. Sounds like things are moving along. Very exciting for you!

I don't remember either of my babies moving whilst I was in labour or paying attention to it. I think that if they do move it is often masked by the contraction.

If you are worried though, I would go to the hospital and get checked out. Is it far? They can always send you home if it is too soon to go in but your mind will be put at rest if you can hear a heart beat.

If you are still there, I hope things are going smoothly and you are soon holding your baby.
