Must admit last night was our first time since birth 14 wks ago. I bled from the tear area i think and thats where its really sore now.
Feel like i did after childbirth now - really. Wheres the rubber ring? I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post but i didn't know where else the subject fitted?

I am really naive about these things and no close friends have had this problem.Does it get easier & less painful or have i been stitched too tight? I was a bit concerned when i bled. I was only a little bit tho.

I had very painful second degree tear that took along time to feel ok. No bleeding, but very sore.

Go to your GP and get them to check out the stitching/scar. I was told that I had been stitched in such a way that previously unexposed tissue was now on the surface and that this was causing the pain. Was advised to keep trying with gentle sex and go back if things didn't improve. GP would have been happy to refer me to obstetrician if need be, but over time it did improve and now not a problem at all.

Is normal, but unpleasant so get it looked at.

I did have similar to this after a 2nd degree tear & stitches (although it was probably even longer that 14 weeks that we waited!!!)

All checked out fine at the doctors, only advice to be very gentle as the scar kind of needs stretching out gradually. I would personally say that it was about 3 or 4 months after we started having sex again that it began to feel normal - uncomfortable for all that time!

However, don't think it ever felt as bad as it did right after birth so maybe worth getting it checked by doctor?

Thanx for your advise mcnoodle & expat. I find now it is more painful at the opposite side to the perineal area. Really sore when i wee. Maybe it because it has been so very long since anything made a passage though there!!!

I don't really want to go to the docs yet because the nurse at 6 wk check had a good look & said all seemed well. So perhaps it is a case -as you say -to go gently. I will go to the docs if i bleed next time tho cus that surely isn't right. Thanx
