Hi I am 5 weeks post c-section and still bleeding lightly in the evening with tum ache is this normal? I think its linked to getting tired carrying DD around half the day as she wont settle unless being carried, so using baby carrier alot but still got sore back arms etc by end of day, and DH takes over! She is 10lb6oz already ;-)

Blimey, well done on such a bonny baby! I bled quite heavily for eight weeks all say after c sec and was told this was not unusual and nothing to worry about, so don't. But perhaps you need to rest a bit more - could dd not go in a buggy instead of a sling? Mine settled when I pushed her around and even though all the walking about was tiring it wasn't such a strain on the back etc, which you really don't need so soon after a c section. Good luck!

yuck alert but is it smelly? more likely to be an infection if so. I'd still check it out with the gp to be on the safe side if it goes on but like you say, probably a sign of doing too much. very impressed you are so active post c section

Not really smelly just think you prob right i been doing lots of walking so overdoing it. We live in a flat so lugging the buggy down 3 flights stairs is not easy hence why I go everywhere with the carrier plus its sends her to sleep normally in under 60secconds if I need a break!! will ask HV when see next week.

i found if i overdid it during the day then I would have bleeding of a night time.

I think I still have very light bleeding up until 6 weeks post section - for all three of mine.

Yes entirely normal, My bleeding packed up after two days and then came back intermittently. As Morocoo said as long as it's not smelly it's normally just a sign you need to rest.

Are you breastfeeding?? I bled for 6-8 weeks when breastfeeding and then didn't have a period until i stopped breastfeeding a year later, it was great having no periods ;)

If you are bottle feeding then i'm not sure.

xx
