Second Labours

Am 24 weeks with second baby. DD was 11 days late and had to have water broken by midwife. Being late didn't bother me then as I was trying to complete my course b4 birth.
This time is different. I am due at end of July and don't think I could cope with being pregnant in the middle of August if I got to nearly 2 weeks late again.
Is there a rule that says once you are late with one you tend to be late with any others and will my waters break on there own or need help again - coz IT REALLY HURT.

Nope - ds1 was late (only about 4 days) and ds2 came a day early. I think they come when they're good and ready.

My first was a week early, 2nd came on her due date, had to have my waters broke with both (but was'nt painful, more of a relief)

No rules AFAIK. ds1 - waters broke 2 days before EDD, then nothing happened, and eventually arrived after induction 53 hours later. ds2 - 12 days late, waters didn't break at all, first sign of labour was his head crowning, and it was all over in about 30 minutes!

No rules afaik either.
Someone may come along in a moment to confirm what I think that you can refuse to have your waters broken. Obviously if you go tooooo late it's not a good thing but i think some midwives can rush you in to have waters broken a little earlier than nesecerry sometimes. I'm not sure about this, someone will need to either tell me to shut up or confirm what I'm saying before you take any notice of that bit!

Loads of people don't advise this but it worked fine for me both times - castor oil. They told me I was going to be induced and I thought noooo way. Then it got a bit too close to Xmas and I was 10 days late so I got on the castor oil and whoooosh there she was! Same again with no2.

I'm due 25 Sept this time and not looking forward to being heavily pregnant with through August either.

Good luck.

Contractions were bearable with DD. Like strong period pains but her heartbeat kept dropping with every contraction so the Midwifes broke my waters. The pain was so intense when they did that. I was writhing with it. Needed every pain killer known to man!
