Are they regular? If they are, and 5 mins apart, I'd ring your mw/maternity ward for advice.

This labout might be less painless than your first (well, you can hope!). Would it be worth ringing anyway?

Has your tummy dropped or your mucus plug appeared or anything else like that? If you feel sore I would try to assume its not labour and not get too excited and get to bed for some rest - I am sure I have heard people can have mild contractions for a week or so gulp! Dont be shy to ring the hospital for some professional advice, app midwives can often tell from talking to you while you are having a contraction if it is labour.

defnitely ring ward and see what they advise, if its to stay put jump in the bath to try and relieve it for a while - 'citing!!!

bump dropped weeks ago, lost my plug at 28weeks and have continued to do so since then. Had slow labour for two weeks with my last, not like this though. Trying not to get excited right now. may well take pookeys advice and head off to bed. Its so bloody annoying Grrrrr. will go to bed at 10.

Well, make sure your bag is packed anyway - I was in slow labour (I thought) with DS - could talk and everything - got to hospital and was 5 cm dilated and DS arrived a couple of hours later .

RING THEM!! They're not going to tell you off for ringing, it does sound like something is happening.

When the taxi arrived to take us to hospital, I was all ready but DH was hopping about cursing and trying to find his socks - had to go down and tell the driver to wait!
