How big is a show?

Hello, Just wanted to know how big is a show? I did not have show with DS1 so have no idea what it looks like. I have been feeling very crampy and have had an uncomfortable lower dull ache in my back all night and have just gone to the loo and when I wiped there was a lump of mucus (sorry) about the size of a 1p coin - it was not a creamy colour like my usual discharge but slightly pinky brown - but no blood streeks?

Could this be a show? Can you only partly loose your mucus plug? I am only 34 weeks so a bit worried things are happening too soon as have had some complications this pregnancy and baby is meassuring 36 weeks - any advice?

Just dont want to sound silly to them as I am only 34 weeks! I dropped 2 weeks ago, baby is engaged and I have had mild contractions on and off for 2 weeks but midwife said its nothing to worry about so just worried I am panicking for nothing. you know how stupid the hospital can make someone feel!
Is it possible to start loosing your show weeks before labour? It was really a small amount but definately mucus! Can anything else cause mucus?

I have also had very heavy discharge for the last few days - could this cause some mucus?

Well just spoke to the labour ward and they have advised me to take two paracetamol and have a warm bath to slow all the movement down and put a pad on and go to bed. If I have any more blood tinged or pink show to let them know - they are not worried about a clear show - and if I get any pains that are regular....

So its off to bed for me then - fingers crossed nothing more happens this evening! and lets hope I can not worry about this and go to sleep... Nightie night
