C-section policy

I saw my midwife last weekend I'm nearly 10 weeks, my last pregnancy was quite traumatic had pre-eclampsia and was delivered at 28 weeks due to my blood pressure being ridiculously high, they cut my uterus against the muscle in not even the classic cut - the midwife the other day was even quite surprised, what I'm wanting to know really is il be having a c-section again this time but are partners allowed to stay over if the baby is healthy & stays with me? I remember really struggling after my section last time and really worried about how I'm going to cope with a newborn in the hospital afterwards? Just wondering whether they can or not as last time obviously had a neonatal baby.

I have had 2 emergency/crash cs, 5 and 8 years ago. Both babies were healthy. DH was not allowed to stay over.

It might depend on the hospital. Partners were allowed at my hospital. Worth asking the hospital. Hope everything goes well.

Whether your partner can stay depends on the individual hospital policy. If you really want your partner to stay you could ring your local units and see if any of them allow it, and transfer your care to that hospital.

Given your history I would think you'll be referred to a consultant early on, so you'll be able to ask your questions then..

It depends on your hospital. Buy you can generally pay for a private room if there's one available and your partner will be allowed to stay if you do that.

It'll depend on the hospital. I had an EMCS 2 years ago and was in for 3 nights, no option for DH to stay.

In both of the hospitals I have had children, partners weren't allowed to stay, even if you had a private room.

It all depends on the hospital, certainly worth asking and seeing what they say however and if it's really important to you perhaps transfer your care to a hospital that does allow this. Good luck x
