Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section & for any TMI.
I gave birth 12 days ago. Had a second degree tear & a few stitches. They seemed to be healing nicely & have started dissolving / coming away. About three days ago I started with a 'pressure' feeling down below & it seems to be getting worse. When I'm sat on the toilet (not staining, just sat) the aching is horrendous. Its the same when I'm on my knees on the floor or cross my legs when standing - it seems to be there anytime there isn't support under my vagina (ie sitting) - Is this normal & part of the healing process or is there more going on?? TIA.

If it were me I would ask the midwife to take a look at it.

That's exactly how I felt - I think it's normal!

I would ask the midwife to take a look if I were you, my stitches got infected and I had to go back into hospital to have an anti biotic drip. The only real sign was a feeling of pressure behind the wound. It could be normal but better to be safe than sorry with things like that.

I had 2nd degree tear too and had exactly the same sensation. I got the GP to check me out at 2 mth check up and she said all was fine and make sure I do pelvic floor exercises (which I am admittedly quite crap at). 8 mths on am fine now. The sensation did last a good few months though. I'm sure you're fine but if you are worried get it checked out.

Yup same as me, nothing bad, but do get the same pulling sensation when I'm on my period now and never got it before DD, but if you're scared ask your midwife, I didn't, I let my body do it's own business

Thank you all - I have my last midwife appointment on Wednesday so I'll mention it to her then. I was going to wait for my 6 weekly check up with the nurse but I'm not sure I can wait until mid November. It literally feels like my insides are pushing to fall out! Blush

In the range of normal, but best to check. I can still feel pressure when I squat or do a poo and I last gave birth 19 months ago.

Sounds normal, mine ached and felt pressure for ages, up to a year. If you're worries get it checked though.

I feel exactly this - gave birth 11 days ago. Slight tear but no stitches. I feel that same pressure, like my insides might fall out, when I stand or walk for too long. It's my first child so I've got nothing to compare it too, but am hoping and guessing it's normal.

I felt like this and then passed a huge clot and the feeling went away. It was massive, and oddly relieving. Not saying this is the case for you but could be. I also get the same feeling when on my period, like other pp's. But I've always had this, not just since I gave birth.
