Good luck!

Have only had EMCS but it was a fantastic, relaxed experience for meeting baby (compared to the non progressing labour beforehand).

Advice I've been given this time (as my ELCS is Friday) is to take a book / something to distract you as although you're told to get there early you can be waiting a long time depending on where you end up on the list which they decide on day depending on who they've got.

Enjoy meeting your little one!

Have had an EMCS and an ELCS. EMCS was much calmer. Lots of slow breathing to keep nerves in check. Chatted to my husband to distract myself. The anaesthetist is your friend- both times they kept me so calm with gentle reassurance.

Good luck! Once you're in there you will see your baby in under 40 minutes. Probably under 30 as large part of a section is spent stitching up again!

Good luck! How exciting

I've had a hospital birth, a home birth, a c-section and a home VBAC.

C-section was lovely! You just lie there and then 5 minutes later they give you a baby Grin

Come back and update us later x

Good luck. I had an ELCS last time, was a lovely experience. If recommend taking your own pillows, the hospital ones are sweaty and plasticky! Also be prepared that there will be lots of people in the room when you go into theatre. They'll all introduce themselves and are usually lovely people but just so you're not shocked! Oh and take snacks for DH/DP as if you end up at the end of the list he'll be hungry by time you go down to theatre.

Agree about the anaesthetist, mine was lovely, he was stroking my hair the whole time Smile

Possibly a bit weird now I look back on it Grin

I've only had am EMCS. No breathlessness but the epidural did give me the shakes, which I found hilarious!
