Lump on vagina after birth

Hi everyone. Its been a week since I gave birth. I have felt down below and there seems to be small lump just on the opening of the vagina way down. I didnt get any stitches and am wondering what it could be. I did get a few tears. Also it feels very sore down below. I did get given some antibiotics for possible infection but the doctor didnt mention this when she looked. I just felt it myself now. I am wondering what it could be .

Could it be varicose veins (vaginal varicosities)? I know they can happen during pregnancy but not sure about after. Is am 39 weeks pregnant and have one which sounds similar. Obviously get it checked in case something serious, but it could be that.

I will tell the midwife tmrw. Whatever I mention to her she just says hmm well that isnt exactly normal and then moves on.

I was wondering if I had an idea beforehand I may b able to pester her to give it some thought. I can't be going to doctors for every little thing.

It could be granulation tissue. I had that. When I went for my hospital check up the midwife put a nitrate compound thingy on it and it healed within a couple of days. I felt so much better afterwards.

Ask someone to bring you a hand mirror so you can see for yourself. Its probably a varicose vein which feels massive under your fingers. But definitely ask doctor to have a look too.
