I was having stinging on peeing which was was expected. I have had minimal lochia and it seems to have stopped now too but I am having so much burning down below now all the time. It seems like someone lit a fire. I mentioned it to the midwife but she just brushed it aside. Any idea wat to do

Call out of hours or midwifery emergency number. if it's an infection it needs attention.

Congratulations on the baby. it's early days but if in doubt ask a doctor.

Is it just when you pee, or all the time?
After all of my births I kept a sports top water bottle in the loo and filled it with warm water to squirt down below when I went for a wee.

When is your next mw visit? If it is not tomorrow then I would ring the community midwives and ask for a visit to check it. The mw should have actually looked for signs of infection I think.

If it wasn't Sat I would suggest a GP appointment.

I had this and ended up back in hospital, please call your midwife.

Sounds horrid. Call the MW, get someone to come to you tomorrow.

She just visited today.

It is all the time. I have a slight fever if I am not taking paracetamol and ibuprofen but since I have been taking them regularly the fever goes away.

I will give them a call. Thanks

There isn't any discharge or smell. Just continuous burning.

dontpokethebear Sat 04-Jun-16 20:46:34

If you have a fever, it's most likely an infection. Get yourself to an out of hours clinic sad

Go to gp and ask them to take a swab. I was the same, midwife said it all looked fine. It wasn't, I had a nasty infection and it got very very sore by the time j was given antibiotics.

Chippednailvarnishing Sat 04-Jun-16 20:50:54

I had the same as finding, midwife missed it. Please don't leave it, see them tonight if you can.

Midwives failed to identify an infection when my son was born 21.5 years ago. You need to seek the advice of a doctor. Please call out of hours.

Chippednailvarnishing Sat 04-Jun-16 21:23:22

Any luck op?

Coldest Sat 04-Jun-16 21:31:14

No they aren't picking their phones. Left a voicemail for the midwife

Chippednailvarnishing Sat 04-Jun-16 21:32:21

Could you try 111? See if you could get an appointment with a Dr?

I'm not impressed with your midwife's response - she is out of order. You need to have your wee checked over right now. Try 111.
