Really hoping this isn't 'it' just yet...

DP is away 300 miles with DS visiting family
Planning hypno home birth and the house isn't ready! Kitchen fitter comes today!!

This is DC3. Others were 39 and 39+5.

Lots of 'bubbly' feelings down below yesterday evening and shooting pains in groin, now woken with intense period type pain that comes and goes and backache (which I suffer with anyway).

Please reassure me this isn't labour yet! Confused

Hello, 36+3 here and much the same as you. Back pain at 2am woke me up. I've got a suspected low grade placental abruption though..
I had lots of these 'false starts' with DS and he managed to stay put a bit longer. How are you doing now? Hoping for you that it's just your body getting itself ready (and the pains/anxiety haven't prevented all sleep!)

I had false starts with the others too.. I've forgotten how you 'know' when it's time!
I'm pottering around with a brew trying to tidy up Grin

I really hope it isn't labour yet, I'm hoping for calm and zen like! But with DP so far away and being below 37 weeks all my plans would go out the window...

Also worried if I have a bath and practice my hypno techniques, the baby might come and I'm alone with DD (10) Shock

How did you find out about your placenta?

Don't know whether to call DP and have him panic and spend £££ flying back for no reason
Or wait it out a bit Confused

Have a bath, go for it - hopefully it'll calm things down. It's funny, having done this twice before I'm the same, kind of can't remember how to tell whether it's 'real'! Mind you, with dc2 my supposed false starts were qualitatively indistinct from when it did actually kick off. Basically all you can do is wait to see whether your surges get more regular and more strong. Best to keep distracted rather than allow yourself to get too worried - I wouldn't reckon there's a need to call DH yet but that's your decision :-) you might want the support even if it is prodromal labour - it can be mentally and physically knackering.

I've had some weird, long braxton Hicks (detected in ecg) concurrent with back pains, and slowed growth, which were the flags for PA for me - got a scan tomorrow to see if they can see anything. It's unlikely to be anything too bad I reckon, I've not had significant bleeding.

I'd try a bath, that should tell you the answer

If need be phone an ambulance

Atleast dd is 10, she's not tiny and must have some idea what's going to happen at some point

My third I woke with dull pains, got in bath and they ramped up instantly. Got to hospital two and a half hour later at 7cm

DD actually asked me if I was in labour last night because I was moving funiture
Hope she doesn't have a 6th sense!
She's very sensible and capable of it all kicks off. She even asked if she should get the pool ready!!

Things seem to have calmed down a bit now. I think I'll run a bath.

Thank you for talking to me!

Good luck.

I'd be telling your DP that you're having Braxton hicks but they might be real so to keep his phone on but don't come home yet.
