I'm starting this thread, because when I was overdue and desperately calmly researching ways to induce labour, I couldn't find many which gave the ultimate results. So this is what I did and what did (and didn't) work
Raspberry leaf tea - turns out (I didn't realise until too late) it doesn't induce, but only helps prepare the muscles for labour
Pineapples - I ate one a day and it did nothing. Though I did start turning them into Virgin pina coladas (blending them with coconut milk) which kept me occupied and made me feel like I was drinking something fancy
Spicy food - we are spicy food every night for a week - nothing. However, the day before I went into labour DH was given some special chilli from Kenya by a colleague so maybe that helped
Walking - I was walking between 1-2 hours a day for a week. I'm not sure about whether or not it helped, but it kept me occupied, it was nice walking listening to music and I think it helped keep me fit for labour and after
Sweep - I had a sweep at 1pm on the Monday, went into labour midnight Tuesday (so around 18 hours later). I think it helped but ... DS was born at 40+10. My siblings and I were all born around 40+10 so it might have been his time
Options not done
- castor oil. I thought it was to gross
- booking non refundable tickets
Any others?
