FOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!

Not necessarily for when you're in labour, but for if you have to stay on a postnatal ward. I didn't take anything with me, and ended up being served a minuscule cheese sandwich that the person in the bed before me had ordered, and honestly it wouldn't have kept a sparrow alive Hmm DH ended up bringing me a WH Smiths picnic from the shop downstairs - I'm planning on having this baby at home, but if I do have to go to hospital, then I will be taking food!!

Sugary drinks for when you are in labour. They don't let you eat in second stage so you'll need sugary drinks for energy

Also when would you say is a good time to even pack hospital bag I'm only 26 almost. 27 weeks but I feel like she might come early so I'm thinking of packing over the next few weeks. Hmm

I'd say make sure that you pack items that might be needed if your birth doesn't go exactly as you've planned it. Things like super comfy large pants to wear if you need a CS (so they don't hurt your scar), extra clothes for you and baby in case you need to stay in hospital longer than planned, etc. Also take some items that might make hospital feel a bit more like home - eg something to play music on, your own pillow, etc. And a few 'treats' for you - stuff like aromatherapy oils, massage oil, cooling face spray or whatever else would help you feel as relaxed and comfortable as you can.

My hospital advised having your bag ready from about 34 weeks.

2 bottles of water with sports bit at top...KEEP IN THE FREEZER until leaving for the hospital! What a lifesaver! You can't get anything cold enough in the hospital!!

The one thing I didn't bring and wish I had was plenty of pjs for after the birth, a dressing gown and loads of big pants (I brought lots but needed more).

Bring maternity pads, water bottle, toiletries and yes, food!
