Big baby, vbac or ecs

Hi all, just looking for some advice.

I am 5'9" and slim, had DS just over 2 years ago, had to be induced at 40+12 and after labour, fully dilating and pushing for an hour and a half, had to have an emergency section as he was looking the wrong way and 10lb. I am now 35 weeks + 6 days pregnant and baby is already 7lb, expected to be over 9lb on due date. Hospital are encouraging me to have a vbac, I am terrified of attempting this and baby getting stuck. I am put off the ecs due to the recovery which I found difficult last time and this time I will also have a toddler. I don't know which way to go, I have ended up booking a sweep at 38 weeks with the option to book an ecs at 40/41 weeks, I can't help thinking I should have just booked the ecs for 39 weeks but was talked out of this by the Dr and DH. Just looking for any thoughts on my situation, thanks in advance.

Sounds like your last labour was difficult for you and understand your reservations.

Your first baby was induced though and sounds like he was OP = long labour, exhausted mum and not uncommonly ended up as a section.

You may go into spontaneous labour this time and your body has laboured before so has been through the motions. If you go for VBAC I'd advise keeping mobile, lots of snacks to keep energy levels up.

In reality only you can decide but your previous experience won't necessarily be replicated this time.

Good luck!
