VBAC with only 5 month gap

hi guys
i have a 8 month old, found out i was pregnant again when he was 5 months. had a c-section last time, just wondering is there are any successful VBAC's out there with a similar gap, and i need to hear the bad ones too in order to decide if i want to take the risk.
dont be afraid to scare me... i want all the gory details!

so there will be 14 - 15 months between them? i know someone who had a 14 month gap and succesful VBAC..... i had a 6 YEAR gap , so can;t really tell you much from my own experience...

it is relevant why you had your last c.s too....and how the labour was last time, but AFAIK, you should be given a trial of labour .....not sure how the scar is really affected by another pregnancy so soon......but odds of rupture are very low on the whole..

there is a VBAC yahoo group, don;t know the link for it and various VBAC support groups online ...and possibly in RL , through NCT etx...they will have more info for you

I think there may be a slightly increased risk of uterine rupture with a short gap between pregnancies. However I was encouraged to try for vbac after my first cesarean, although I chose not to for various reasobs unrelated to risk of rupture.

Meant to say there was a 6 month gap between my cesarean and the next pg, but was still encouraged to do vbac.

got to 9 and 1/2 cms... baby became "distressed"
(code for he pooed...) so was advised to have section.
also slow labour progress, (14 hours, which new midwife says isnt that long for a first labour) but that only started once i had an epidural, so will do my best to do it on my own this time!

all in all everyone i have spoken to have said that they dont think i should have been pressured into a section.

am praying that not going to the same hospital will help this time.

Get the AIMS booklet on VBAC (if your close enough i have a copy - im in herts/essex)

a section when you were 9 1/2 cm !!! epi can slow things....you know, don't you, that you can give birth vaginally........you just need a bit of a boost........my DD passed meconium , i delivered vaginally , 3 hours later,,, you and your body know what to expect this time......there is no reason you shouldn't go for a VBAC x
