40+3 Braxton Hicks agogo but nothing else

Had stupidly expected DC2 to come on due date like DS did. Now 3 days over, which I know isn't much but flip it's like waiting for Xmas and waking up on 24 Dec day after day. Had some cramps on and off for a week and lots of Brixton Hicks in last 24 hours. Hot curry for dinner. Anyone else just waiting?!?

Me! I'm only 39+5 but been having really strong BHs since Sat night. Am getting impatient as was induced early with DD.

How are you feeling now 33?

Thanks - still same. BH seem to come in the evening. Daytime is kind of like a dreamlike state at the moment. Feel like we're in limbo. Baby still moving quite a lot so wonder if it doesn't feel the urge to exit yet as it's not jammed in. Although don't know how it could get any bigger!

I know what you mean. My BHs really ramp up in the evenings and make me think something is happening but then I go to bed and everything stops.

As I was induced last time I don't even know what real labour will even feel like when it starts!

Lots of BH is good. I had major BH with my second and a very easy labour and birth as they had done a lot of the work for me. Hope it's not much longer for you. X

Now the BH have stopped too!! Also getting new stretch marks so figure it just hasn't finished growing.

Has baby dropped? I got all my stretch marks the day before I went into labour with my first. X

Hi Rosey, still nothing. Seeing mw today - I know she's going to suggest a sweep but I really don't want any intervention at this stage (40+6 now).

Can I join?! 40+4 here. No sign of anything happening.

With my first baby I had a sweep at 40+3, lost plug at 40+5, had baby at 41+0.

Seeing Mw this arvo so hoping for something similar this time - there's a full moon on Friday as well so I am hoping that might have an effect!!!

Hi there Bot. Let us know how the sweep goes. I'm seeing mw in a couple of hours and have so many questions about it.

Ha ha! No still waiting!!

I had a sweep this morning and got Bishops Score of 7 and 1.5cms dilated. Midwife said if it was going to work it would be within 48 hours.

What would you like to know about sweeps 33?

Bot, have you seen midwife yet?

I had about three weeks of big BH before dd was born (10 days ago) and went on to have a quick, easy birth- 5 hours with 20 minutes pushing with no tears. The mw said that the BH had done a lot of work for me. the waiting and stop starting was rubbish though.

Fingers crossed we have the same as you Nicky!

Congratulations on your new DD!

Decided not to go for sweep - mw seemed relaxed about letting me choose. I'm just not convinced baby's ready and don't see point in rushing it apart from getting sooo impatient

waiting, I didn't know how far it would send me down the spiral of medical management. But I understand now that you can get as far as pessary and having waters broken before they would then make you go to CLU for drip. Really want to be mw led.

Me too. I really don't want to end up on delivery suite either.

Can you stay on MLU if they break waters and give you pessary then? Would they still let you use the pool do you know? I wouldn't mind having to be induced if I could.

That's what my mw said. It's only if neither pessary nor waters being broken yield anything then you'd be moved.

That's good to know 33. If I am still here next week I'll ask my mw at my next appt if it's the same at my hospital.
