Pushing with piles (!)

I'm 37+ with my 2nd.
In the last week my piles have become pretty sore and uncomfortable in any position, sitting/standing.
I'm conscious of how much worse they will get during childbirth/pushing and hence how horrific and annoying they will be in the days/weeks following when I will be feeling pretty tender anyway.
I'm thinking that it would help if I could get the midwife to hold a cold compress against my anus during the pushing stage but I'm not sure if this is asking too much especially with the likelihood of pooing. confused

Does anyone have any experience/ tips?

I didn't notice them during labour with dc2, but immediately afterwards, oh my goodness! I had a volterol up there as soon as I could! Not so much with dc3 during labour, but I had the suppositories and cream from the gp as soon as I could. Wish I'd got it pre delivery! (They were fine by 1mo post delivery) ahh the joys or pregnancy smile best wishes with everything x

Thanks Daisy.

Since my OP they got worse still and started bleeding (sexy)....I think as baby becomes engaged the pressure down there is aggravating them.

I spoke to a gp who has prescribed anusol which is helping loads.

Not sure about how to deal with the pushing bit yet.

Have you got the suppositories and cream too? Definitely helps to have both and make sure you've got enough in for after too. (my stuff was called scheriproct don't be afraid to go back if what you've got doesn't help) also do a search on here with piles in the title, you might find some useful advice.

(Funny how this isn't often discussed in RL grin )
