Anyone in East Sussex?

Anyone from the area know how the local maternity services work, in particular for home births? We're hoping to move there soon (near Uckfield - had offer accepted on house) and are moving from out of the area. I'm planning a home birth (with DC2) and was wondering how I'd go about organising the logistics if we end up moving quite late in my pregnancy...

Where I am now, the home birth team is attached to the particular hospital that's doing your antenatal care. Is it the same in East Sussex? If so, which are the better hospitals for antenatal/ community midwife teams?

I live nr Crowborough, so not a million miles from you, my community midwife was based in the Crowborough birthing centre and I know they organise home births. Perhaps give them a call. Lots of people in this part of the world choose to do all their hospital stuff out of trust at Pembury in Tunbridge wells. I have had good experiences in both places.

Good luck with the move!

Thanks Moo. I'll give the Crowborough birthing centre a call and see what they say.
