Good luck - I was in your shoes 23 years ago! Smile

Golfhotelromeofoxtrot · 26/05/2015 08:35

Make sure you stay active! I was induced a few months ago and it was great- I think the success was down to our walking races around the hospital gardens!

Holden10 · 26/05/2015 13:29

Finally on a bed on induction suite and awaiting first pessary. I think I'm underprepared for the pain I'm gonna experience tbh...

Oh, very, very exciting! is this DC1? By all accounts, it's worth it Wink

Oh, so very jealous of the impending snuggly newborn!

goshhhhhh · 26/05/2015 13:38

I was induced with no 1. Golf is right -keep moving. For me it was no more painful than non induced no2. (I am a natural birth nut). Good luck - hope all goes ok.

rubyred84 · 26/05/2015 17:44

ooh how exciting, I will be following....good luck!

Holden10 · 26/05/2015 17:49

Yep dc1 :). I Had my first dose of prostin after much confusion from silly me about whether she had put it in Grin thank god dh is here to understand things my poor brain can't process. Being assessed again in about an hours time but can't say I've had much progression despite long walks!

Debinaround · 26/05/2015 18:17

Ooh good luck.

Do you know what your having? Grin

Holden10 · 26/05/2015 19:00

A baby I hope! Grin just kidding its a boy! back on monitor and awaiting second pessary. I was only 1cm with a soft cervix etc earlier, I was told that baby was back to back but latest is that he's rolled over and is back to front again. Birthing balls are great aren't they Grin

Holden10 · 26/05/2015 19:24

Second internal and I'm now 1-2cm dilated, cervix 1cm long (or just under) and is soft and moving forwards. It's not much progress so I'm sad but I will try my best to keep things moving somehow. Advice appreciated

Good luck! I was induced with 24hr pessary on Sunday and had him 3am Monday. It was amazing despite going 2cm-baby out in 1 hr, and lots of conplications that I won't mention at this point ha! It was brilliant still, we are just waiting to be discharged now, good luck, good luck!!

BreeVDKamp · 26/05/2015 19:47

Sorry, pessary in Sunday was 3pm, so 12 hrs total

goshhhhhh · 26/05/2015 19:55

Keep going! & keep moving as much as possible. It took 2 pessaries to get me going but it is probably different now. China up!

goshhhhhh · 26/05/2015 19:55

Supposed to say chin up!

Holden10 · 26/05/2015 20:07

BlacknWhitePanda · 26/05/2015 20:13

Oo good luck hun! I hope he comes soon for you!

If it helps my bowels got a bit bleh before I went into labour. Might be a good sign!

Linskibinski · 26/05/2015 20:15

holden10 yy to the bowel thing! Poop like you've never pooped before! It's always good to have a good clear out! Pack that dignity away into your hospital bag, you won't be needing it for a while. Keep smiling! FlowersBrew

MrsHende · 26/05/2015 20:17

Good luck! Sending happy, healthy labour vibes your way!

Debinaround · 26/05/2015 20:18

My bowels were the same. Definitely a good sign.

pigsinmud · 26/05/2015 20:19

My sign of imminent labour for all 4 of my dc was running to the loo a lot! Think my body was clearing out. Good luck! My dc1 (ds1) was born 17 years ago tomorrow - can't believe how time flies.

TrinityForce · 26/05/2015 20:30

Good luck! You'll soon be having baby cuddles!

Ooh settling in for lovely new baby happiness.

Good luck OP!

Holden10 · 26/05/2015 21:00

Thanks for all the luck :) can I ask if nipple tweaking is futile at this point? I've been having a fiddle but seem to be getting braxtons and backaches. Can't decide if contractions. Walk was good, seemed to cause a lot good motions!

OP posts:
Allstoppedup · 26/05/2015 21:04

OP, my induction started with a "hmmm...I have a little back ache, I wonder if it's contraction starting..." Then about 20 mins later I KNEW it was Grin

I had a great induction experience with my DS and am pregnant with my second now and actually feel quite excited to give birth again!

Good luck and congratulations, sounds like you are on track and your DS is on his way! Such an exciting time!Flowers
