Mine went with a trickle rather than a gush with my first dc and I didn't realise what it was. It's worth mentioning to the midwife. I don't like to scaremonger but it put my DS into distress and he passed meconium inside me. My labour had to be monitored closely and I wasn't allowed to be mobile during labour.

Hi, my waters broke with no pain for some time and in your position I'd definitely call the labour ward/midwife for advice. Again, don't want to scaremonger but they can do a quick check to see whether it is your waters and if it is then it's better to know sooner rather than later as there are infection risks associated with having waters broken for too long without labour starting. Last time I was told that I should be started on antibiotics if labour didn't start within 24 hours. Hope all goes well!

midwife came to drop of my home birth pack so spoke about it then. but i did not really leak whilst they were here. but she did not seem overly concerned either

It sounds like your waters tbh, I would ring the labour ward for advice. Same thing happened t my friend, community midwife wasn't concerned, however labour ward told her to come in - her baby was born 4 hours later!!

My waters broke with pains and some bloody mucus.

From then, every time I moved around there would be a trickle of water that I couldn't even try to control.

It felt very different from peeing myself a bit if I coughed or had held on for the loo too long. Does that make sense?

If I were you, I'd pop a pad in your knickers and get it checked out. The midwives should be able to tell from the pad if it's your waters.

Good luck Smile

Sounds absolutely like waters to me. Hopefully you have gone in to be checked OP (or even better be in labour).

Please please please ring the labour ward or ring your midwife again, once your waters have gone there is a greater risk of infection for you and the baby.

You NEED to go and get checked out! Please listen to girliefriend

Ok probably gross but put a pad on and smell it. Is it like wee or slightly sweet like baby? I'd get checked out asap, the Hollywood waters gushing everywhere does happen to some women but it's often like you have described.

You definitely need to get this checked out. When waters break, you need to be monitored to check baby isn't in distress.

As I said above my waters leaked with a trickle with my DS but this morning they gushed dramatically.

When I arrived at the hospital (less than an hour later) I was already 4cm dilated and one of my twins was presenting in an awkward position so I had an EMCS pretty much right away.

I think it's always better to get these things checked out!

I reckon it's worth ringing just in case. MWs aren't phased by telling you you have wet yourself, if that is indeed what it is!

eagle! Shock have pmed you!

When this happened to me they took it very seriously - strep B test and all (although all was fine). Waters went Wednesday night and I was induced first thing Friday. You can't muck about, it can go wrong, no matter what the MW dropping off the pack said Hmm. Please go in OP.

If the midwife didn't check you (which she could have done in 5 mins...) you need to call triage and discuss with them. Just explain its been ongoing over nearly 24 hours now and you're confident it's not urine. It may be hind waters but it still needs to be checked. It absolutely cannot wait if there's a chance its fluids.

Please call.

I know a few mums where this happened all turned out ok but it was the waters and they all had to start induction within 24 h due to risk of infection. I've had some peeing myself incidents, am 36 weeks.
But had them since 20 something weeks. I don't think you'd suddenly pee yourself, at 38 weeks, quite a lot, without having previously done so.

I didn't have any pain with mine. My waters went last night whilst I was in bed, got up and had a small gush, went to the toilet, rang midwife, stood up and had a bigger gush. I soaked a pad before we had even left out and have continued to soak a few more throughout the night. Now I can have the same one in for a few hours.
Like the others have said, midwife will confirm whether it's waters or not. Put a pad in, and take it with you/keep it in when you go to the hospital. I though my waters had been trickling but it was actually wee, with a damp patch every day.
Like someone else said, TMI but do see what it smells like on a pad. It's a different scent to urine, more semen like, sorry!

had baby at home yesterday :) 10 days early all is well. it was my waters that had been leaking. so they have taken a couple of swaps to make sure no infection takes few days to come back.
